A friend booked the Inn on our behalf as we live in Essex. Although it was a Monday evening, the main restaurant was closed though there was the full menu available in the bar area. We all had different items off the menu. I had a most tasty rib eyed steak that was cooked to perfection. There was no complaints... More

My husband and I went there for our lunch as it had good reviews. The place was in darkness and we thought it was closed as there was a sign on the door, however reading it up close, it said that" the bistro was closed due to a carpet being laid and the restaurant was still open". anyway we went... Went for a meal this afternoon with some friends and our kids. Although the hotel is in a lovely location and we were welcomed on our arrival, we found the overall experience a bit of a let down. The service was fairly slow and we even had some of our meals and drinks forgotten despite our youngest child crying for... More

Didnt stay was only there for a meal. Staff nice enough and the place itself is lovely and clean. Food was ok nothing special though. Food menu is overpriced. Left feeling dissappointed which is a shame as it was recommended to us. It was ok but nothing special. Would not rush back.

This was a group booking. On arrival we found that one couple had been booked in elsewhere because the hotel wa overbooked but this was paid for by the owner and he had organised transport to and from the hotel whenever the people wished. Rooms were a bit old and tired looking but beds were comfortable. The shower and toilet... More

We didnt stay here but ate here on our way back from Edinburgh looking for an cheaper alternative to our hotels more pricey fine dining restaraunt, sadly we didnt get it. Staff lovely and attentive making sure we had everything we needed before their big party would arrive. But the food was average and yet overpriced. We paid approx £12... More

My wife and I dined here after a visit to Dirleton Castle. The staff were initially very welcoming showing us to the last available table and presenting us with our menus. After a while we ordered our food and more drinks. Our server said she'd bring us some complimentary bread with our drinks. 10 minutes later, none of these had... More
