Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great stay. Clean, welcoming and a special thankyou to Clare on reception who was lovely and couldn’t do enough to help. Breakfast was lovely and very reasonably priced. Would recommend. Bed was comfy and mattresses were great, however seemed older and could do with a refresh maybe. Other than that can’t fault it

We arrived late afternoon, greeted by friendly reception, the room was clean and tidy.We went down the restaurant for 6.30, food was nice but bit basic. We then had knocked at the door at 8.00, I answered the door to two ladies, said they had complained about our dogs barking, and we shouldn’t of left them.It was hour and half that we left them.I would avoid this place if have dogs, people that stay here are stuck up non dog lovers..

Very friendly and efficient. Couldn't get a disabled parking space so had a fair walk to hotel. Says dog friendly but couldn't take dog into bar /dining area or leave him in the room. Only other seating area was in reception so not appropriate to dine properly. Room let as double but only one chair so second person only had bed to sit on. Shower had really low pressure so was rubbish. Room guide said cable/satellite TV but this was certainly not the case in our room. Just not the best of stays but on plus side we had comfy beds and everywhere was nice and clean. Breakfast at £12 was nice.

The room was awful and did not smell fresh. The mattress was very thin. Some of the furniture looked like from the 70s and needed to be thrown out Window did not close. The insulation between the rooms was zero, and it did not help when a room decided to have a party. The guy at the desk did tell them, so after a while, it went quiet after midnight The so-called cleaning after the first night was hanging up a towel. However, the staff, the breakfast and parking were good so therefore I give it a 3.

Stayed overnight prior to a business meeting the following day. The room was clean and well appointed, but the stairways located at each of the hotel could only be classed as filthy. £12.00 for a full English breakfast seemed reasonable, bar the fact the coffee machine was out of order, and the caterers had run out of eggs by 0800 for a breakfast that was due to run until 1000. I guess you get what you pay for but Ibis failed miserably on this occasion.

Just stopped here for the 2nd time in a few weeks for work, no complaints 1st visit but not the same can be said for this visit..there were constant door banging noise from around 5.30 every morning, a guy woke me at 12.40am o on my 1st night knocking on his door and shouting his partner as he couldn't get into his room ( not the good night's sleep I was expecting as I had been awake from 4am the previous morning driving 4hrs, then doing a day's work plastering, to top it off on the 4th night someone decided to try and break into my vehicle by chopping away at my side door that CCTV didn't cover..I'm now having 2nd thoughts about using this hotel as my base when working locally

Ibis Chesterfield North I have stayed at the Ibis Hotel in Barlborough many times both for work and leisure the hotel is in a good location and has ample on site free parking. It's a hotel I feel I can rely on, a hotel were I get good service from friendly staff, a clean comfortable bed and an environment where I can get a decent night's sleep. Over the last few years I have stayed at the Ibis in Barlborough for at least forty nights and the standards have been consistent, this is why I use this hotel regularly as a base. The rooms are a very good size, the bedding has always been spotless, great sized bathrooms with a decent sized shower. When I'm travelling long distances the most important thing to me is a good night's sleep, on the couple of occasions I've had issues, they have been quickly remedied by helpful and efficient staff. The staff at the hotel took the time to tell me how I could save by joining the All-Accor Live Limitless scheme or by booking in advance - All-Accor Live Limitless gives you up to 10% off every stay; this has definitely saved me money. Not having to checkout of your room until twelve noon means you don't have to rush, it makes a difference to your hotel experience and your day. If you want a lie in avoid rooms at the back of the hotel that are near the service entrance, bins and staff smoking area. On the same site as the hotel are the Harvester Treble Bob Restaurant and within walking distance are Costa, KFC and McDonald's. This hotel is getting a lot right. All photography ©
