We're a late 20's couple who travelled up from London to spend a week just outside of Blairgowrie. We're both well travelled but the area is one of the most beautiful places we've been to. We found there wasn't as bigger pub culture in most small scottish towns untill we found this little beauty! Our visit to Scotland wasn't going... More

I have only eaten in the Meikleour Hotel so cannot comment on the rooms; although the one we were shown seemed fine if a little fussy and in need of airing. The village is on a quiet road, so no noise issues, and the hotel is a pleasant stone building. The bar is a pleasant place to eat; not "haute... More

just back from spending a truly special night stay at the Meikleour Hotel ..Perfectly located for easy access to Perth Dunkeld, Blairgowrie Dundee and Pitlochery. Made to feel like we friends as soon as we walked in. Personally taken up to out room and shown where everything was. A wee decanter of pre dinner sherry and two bottles of water... More

On our first visit to this area we rang ahead to check if this hotel was dog friendly for an evening visit and meal, which we were assured was the case. What they should have said is that only if the dog is no bigger than a Jack Russel and no more than one can fit in the area allowed... More

This place was recommended to me by a friend, and as I was passing that way to my final destination, I dropped in for lunch. My starter was the Black Pudding Scotch Egg, and I followed by a mini steak burger. Both were first Class. My partner had a mini fish and chips, also excellent. Unfortunately I was off to... More

We dined here on our way up to Sutherland on a fishing holiday, and stayed the night on our return journey. Warm, comfortable, friendly, the welcome was the best of Scottish hospitality. Cat welcomed us with tea and delicious shortbread, and Kia (then owner) greeted us like old friends (we do have friends who are regulars there). Room was cosy... More

The food was overcooked, tasteless, tepid and one hour late. The service was at best slapdash and some of the options were unavailable. There was a howling draft in the dining room. I wouldn't recommend to anyone. Don't go

This is our 4th visit to Meikleour and it was lovely once more.Outside it was freezing but inside the welcome was as warm as ever! The dinners are so good. We especially enjoyed the warming minestrone soup and the slow cooked lamb. Our room was more like a mini suite with everything in it to make things very comfortable Already... More

My wife and I really enjoyed our short stay at this hotel. We only wish it could have been longer! First impressions were that the bar was bit chilly, but the first class real ale and warm welcome soon warmed us up. Our room was very well appointed and surprisingly spacious. As for the bed, it was so comfortable, the... More

I visited Meikleour Hotel because I was on business locally the following day. It was a very informal check in and as it turned out I was the only staying guest tat night. The weather meant that I stayed in the restaurant for my evening meal. The food was outstanding, even when my steak wasn't quite cooked correctly, it was... More
