Visit Scotland put us in touch with Freddie at the wonderful Campsie Cottages, which exceeded all expectations. Freddie put us up in the Barn, at very short notice, and we could not have asked for more. Well-appointed, clean, light, airy, lovely furnishings, good attention to detail and very comfortable. We will come back with family and friends, and have no... More

We stayed at Ballochruin Farm this summer, for 4 nights. We wrote directly to Freddie, asking for an accomodation, and he replied with a special offer: 500 £ instead of 700£ (for 4 nights and 2 double rooms). When we reached the farm, Freddie welcomed us gently, and with a surprise: he gave us a whole cottage (with kitchen, iron... More

Myself and 4 friends stayed in Freddie's beautiful self catering house (The Barn). It was most definitely clean, well equipped, airy and spacious. Freddie could not have been more helpful and accommodating and we all agreed that we would recommend this to anyone who fancied a quiet, private and relaxing place to stay - with so many things to do... Well it's only a farmhouse at the end of the day but the title is not an overstatement. The house is ideally situated at a centre point of the Scottish lowland, which means it has easy road access to many places of attractions: 15mins to Loch Lomond, 15 mins to Stirling, 30 mins to West Highland (Loch Fyne), 30 mins... We stayed in one of the three self catering cottages called The Barn. We were a party of 5 - inc grandparents and 3 yr old toddler. The property was very clean and spacious. The kitchen was well equiped. I am a bit of a cook and was able to prepare all my meals with ease. It was suggested by... More

The choice was supported by great reviews but we found the place quite deceiving. The barn was dirty when we arrived and we asked to clean it up again the following day. The duvets and pillows in the beds were really tired, with black corners and bad smell as if never washed in ages. We payed a fortune to stay... More

We stayed there for four nights. The cottages are lovely. They are all new and very well equipped. The owner is nice and even gave us a guided tour to his alpacas' farm. The farm is located in an area very closed (by car – of course) to Loch Lomond and the area attraction.

I recently spent 1 night here with my husband after walking up Ben Lomond. We were made to feel very welcome by Janet and Freddie. The guest house is clean, comfortable and the scenery is beautiful. The website doesn't give it justice. We liked it so much we have decided to go back and stay for a week in one... More
