this was an unexpected treat. we booked in here having failed to book into a place we know.
Mary Mitchell who runs the place said she had empty rooms that night so offered my friend and i a room each for the same price as the shared room we had booked (£40 for the night), which was lovely. the rooms are well appointed, decorated and maintained. there seemed to be 3 bedrooms (none are en-suite but all have a wash-basin) and one shared bathroom which had a bath and a fabulous power shower. the breakfast was excellent, with Kippers, herring in oatmeal, mushroom omelette and more. Mary is a Buddhist, artist and Reiki therapist and her husband is a professional musician in one of Scotland's top orchestras, which made for great conversation! it is near the University, not far from Bridge of Allan and a bus trip or a 15 to 20 minute walk into Stirling.
