We had a lovely stay in the Secret Garden Cottage which was really nicely finished with an open plan kitchen/living area, a double and twin bedroom upstairs as well as a bathroom. It also has its own little private outdoor area and BBQ. We were travelling with our 6 month old son and Honor was able to provide a travel... More

I visited with my family during the summer and fell in love! So much so that we wanted to buy a home out there. Honor, Simon and Holly were the perfect hosts. We stayed there to use as a base to look around for houses. It is so much better than a normal B & B. We used one of... More

Had a wonderful stay a maison de la Roche with my husband and daughters age 9 & 11. it wasn't like being in a random holiday home it was like you were staying with friends. Honor, simon & holly couldn't have been any more welcoming. The gites are immaculate and furnished with Iove care and attention to detail.  Honor is also... More

Honor, Simon and Holly were fabulous hosts when we stayed at their gorgeous Gites. The Gites are modern and spacious with a rustic France twist and comfortably sleep four adults in their two bedrooms. The living area is open plan with an excellent fully equipped modern kitchen including an oven, with a large family sized dining table and a huge... More

After we finally found a window of opportunity to escape for a week away, it was proving difficult to find somewhere with availability and flights. Then we finally stumbled across Maison de la Rouche, three great Gites near to three established airports. The location is great for those who would like to explore the area, we visited a number of... More

What a fantastic find! We had a wonderful week and would absolutely recommend to families, couples or groups of friends together. Simon, Honor and Holly made us feel very welcome and were very helpful in suggesting local places of interest. The gites were even better than expected - stylish, clean, comfy, a bit like staying in a boutique hotel but... More

What a hidden gem - so lucky to find! Have had a wonderful week here, staying in beautifully restored French accommodation. All the finer details really thought about. Perfect for our gathering of 3 families but with our own accommodation. Simon and Honor have been fabulous hosts providing us with plenty of useful ideas and advice about places to visit... More

What a wonderful holiday! We were absolutely exhausted after just moving house, not to mention a Summer of rain in England and really looking forward to our stay. We were not disappointed this place is heaven! We stayed in the secret garden gite which was gorgeous and equipped with absolutely everything needed and lots of litte extra touches. The gite... More

I can thoroughly recommend this place. Situated in a lovely little village where the locals never passed you by without saying hello. We stayed in the secret garden gite which was beautifully presented and very well equipped. Also had own little outdoor sitting space, so idillic at night. The main courtyard and pool area also lovely. Felt very secure with... More

Lots has already been said....all I would add is.... 1. My two year old son cried all the way to the airport about having to leave 'his' holiday home. My wife wasn't looking too happy either! 2. He has talked of nothing else for a week since. 3. We're booking again for next year. Soooooooo much better idea than a... More

Maison de la Roche, a former wine domain which had been neglected for several years was bought by us, Simon and Honor Woods and our daughter Holly, in the summer of 2007. We had decided to leave London after 20 years to seek a different lifestyle and find more space, family time and room to breathe! The idea being to renovate the original house and one of the barns into a spacious family home and to turn the other two barns into Gites, a workshop and studio. ... more   less
