My husband and I recently had a very pleasant overnight stay at this hotel before travelling over to Orkney. I just love this hotel, there's just something lovely and cosy and welcoming about it, emphasised by the wilderness outside in this 'empty quarter' of the UK. It is an old old building - you can imagine travellers hundreds of years ago gratefully spying it and anticipating a great meal after hours over the hills in the horse drawn coach.... more

We stayed at this venue to witness the marriage of close friends who had their reception here. The hotel is deceiving from the outside, just needs some re-painting but inside, the decoration is beautiful. They have modernised the interior but with still keeping it quite traditional. One room has a very large dance area and bar, perfect for wedding venues... more
