We were here in October, still in rainy season. We had pretty good weather though, only two days were bad. The roof was leaking, but everyone was nice and helpful through the rain. Everyone is super friendly and the units are really large. Great location near town, so able to walk just about everywhere. All of the people resort recommended:... more

Las Gaviotas is absolutely lovely. The front desk staff are always friendly and very helpful. We stayed here for 5 nights from Aug. 9 to Aug. 14, 2009 and had a great stay. The units are large, clean, and well-equipped. By far the best part of the rooms is the large balcony that fronts them all and overlooks the Malecon... more

We were only able to stay one night at Las Gaviotas Resort, but it was well worth it! We are going back next January (2010) for a full week. The resort is across the street from the Malecon (boardwalk) - a beautiful walk along the bay where there are lots of restaurants, clubs and bars. The beach there is ok... more

Situated close to the action in La Paz, Las Gaviotas is a comfortable home base for exploring this sleepy city and its environs. The resort is one block from the malecon and another 5 or 10 to the heart of the city. We stayed here for a week in the end of December and were very happy with our experience.... more

I own a timeshare in Cancun and that is how I got to stay at this resort. That is by excahnging my week with RCI. The city of La Paz is about 250 KM from the airport in Cabo San Lucas and the drive to La Paz is not something I would recommend. I drove to the resort at night... more

My sister and I loved our stay at Las Gaviotas, and hope to return in the fall. The units are huge, with a fresh breeze blowing through. The units were well equipped and very pleasant. The staff was wonderful, and we loved that this was not a big fancy gringo resort. If you want to feel like Vegas in Mexico,... more

I have now stayed at Las Gaviotas 4 times. My husband and I go down with friends and rent either a 3 or 4 bed house. Everytime it has been with a different owner and every time it has been perfect. We usually do a costco shop, fill a cooler with veggies, fruit, meat and buy beer/etc at the shop... more

This may not be the vacation for you if you want to be pampered at pool side, have room service and experience all of the amenities a large resort has to offer. Las Gaviotas has it's own niche, completely unlike other resorts. The resort is small and there is no restaurant on location. However, the locals are friendly, there are... more

Great casual resort for an urban vacation. One block up from the busy Mercado - the primary promenade around the bay. Easy walking access to a variety of restaurants and bars and shops. Room came with all the basics needed for a relaxing week, including a full-size fridge, affordable water for drinking and making ice cubes, and a nice pool... more

I am currently staying at La Gaviotas, and was therefore interested to see what others had to say as I sit here by the pool enjoying the sunshine. I own a timeshare, which is how I got to stay here, but mine is not located in Mexico, so I did not know exactly how this one would compare to the... more
