It's been years since I've been to Tijuana, Mex. Recent US news about problems of violence and corruption have not been encouraging. However, I decided to try Tijuana's first B&B...Sadie's. This is soooo much more than a B&B. It was originally a grand old house that 3 women took over and converted to a B&B. It is beautifully remodeled with pristine polished marble floors and lots of beautiful granite and tile. The locals (including a chef from a great nearby restaurant) will sometimes call up to make reservations for dinner just to come over and have a relaxing dinner while enjoying the views from the patio. We stayed in the luxury suite which had a mini fridge and complimentary bottles of wine. Carolyn, Sonia, and Margaret (and Sadie the golden retriever) are the innkeepers and make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. One drawback...it's 3 stories with no elevator. I highly recommend this for a great over the border stay. We hit the new art district... more
