My son and I stayed from March 11 to the 16th. Everything about the hotel exceeded my expectations. I originally booked the hotel due to location and price. I wasn’t expecting anything great due to the number of negative reviews here. But a lot were fairly positive so we decided to give it a try. The hotel is on par... More

The room was good, but it needed a little maintenance. Location was the best in Monterrey and the free breakfast at the Sierra Madre couldn't be better!

This hotel was horrible (we were on the top floor)...the food was disgusting (breakfast and lunch buffets). Walls were dirty and had loose electrical plates/plugs. At some point during our stay the wooden numbers outside of our room got broken(not sure how) and the room next to us had its numbers broken so you couldn't tell the room's number. But... More

We spend 3 days in Monterrey and stayed in this hotel for its location and because it had breakfast buffet. The location was perfect but the breakfast buffet was a lie, Apparently they only serve it when there are more than 120 people in the hotel, I think they should mention it in their web page so they don’t mislead... I stayed here for a long weekend to visit friends. The #1 reason I choose it was the breakfast buffet included with the price. I just prefer to roll out of bed and grab a bite downstairs whenever possible. The service was good. Just a typical Mexican breakfast. The hotel overall is well maintained and clean but definitely time for... More

My son and I came to a sporting event in Monterrey and researched the hotels using Trip Advisor. We decided on Howard Johnson Plaza booking an executive room costing around $100 per night including taxes. Hotel has a 24 hour check in which was great for us as we checked in at 2am arriving from the airport. A buffet style... More

I hang my hat at Marco Plaza Howard Johnson. A great place for family, buisness and pleasure. The staff are excellent and the facilities are outstanding. I travel to Monterrey every 5-6 months and stay with my friends at the Howard Johnson Marco Plaza. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. I have stayed here many times. Usually a great rate, however the rooms are all over the quality map. Some are new, some very old. I like the old suites, in desperate need of an upgrade, but big and comfortable for about 100/night. Good suites are 208, 209; bad- 212. The excellent breakfast is NO LONGER FREE; parking still is.
