I go to Monterrey somewhat often. I had stayed in this particular hotel a few months back, we were very comfortable with the services, and how the rooms looked etc. So this last time I visted Monterrey, we went directly to this hotel again. The day of checkout, before checking out I left my purse in my room while I went to eat breakfast (since my room was in the 3rd floor, and the cafeteria was about 4 rooms away); trusting that everything would be fine and trusting the professionalism of the hotel, I never thought that choice was going to cost me so much.
Turns out that when I go back to pack my stuff to leave the hotel, I see a couple of pillows I had left on the bed, on the floor against the wall. I let my father know at the time, and I checked and thought nothing was missing(forgetting to check the purse), when I get home that night, I notice that out of 160 dollars I had taken on the trip i was left with no more than 30 dollars.

I was in Monterrey for a conference, and stayed the first three days at Fiesta Americana - nice, but it might have been Dallas or Houston or New York or Los Angeles. I had two free days and moved across the plaza to Santa Rosa. It was all the difference in the world.

First, the rooms are huge - even the mini-suites are huge. Full living room, table and chairs, small kitchen. The bedrooms are also very spacious.

Second, whereas Fiesta was a $110 +$15 for internet +$20 for breakfast (making it $165 for two people), Santa Rosa was $70 for a mini suite with breakfast and internet included.

Third and final: the hospitality was the most enjoyable thing. They knew my name every time I came in and out of the hotel, and spoke to me in a personable way. They were eager to help, above and beyond the call of duty - hailing cabs, walking across the plaza to check on a restaurant for us, just very friendly people. I highly recommend it.
