I did enjoy my visits at Perico's in downtown Cancun. The biggest hurdle is finding the place. It is about 2 blocks north of Tulum Ave - but we always get lost trying to get there. You will probably end up walking down alleys to find it - luckily, we got there safely. It may be best to take a taxi. Leaving, it is easier to find the bus stop to get you back to the hotel zone - but that all relative (still a bit confusing..) Anyway, back to Perico's! We stopped in on a Tue night about 5pm. The restaurant was open, but not busy by any means. The bar has saddles for seats - only 3 are stools. Get there early and sit in the stools - the saddles are not comfortable. The bartender - Adolfo - is very entertaining. Card tricks, balancing coke bottles, balancing drinks and beer on his head. They also have this flaming shot - La Cucaracha. I think it is mostly kahlua - maybe some tequila on top so that it will light. Had one of those before we left that evening. Very tasty! Like... more
