i stayed at this hotel for about a week and the experience was terrible. First i came to an agency to book my hotel and i paid everything in cash. When we got to the hotel the recepcionist said that the agency hadnt paid yet and wanted an advance for the room. after we spoke with the agency the problem... more

First, some perspective. My wife and I own three timeshare properties, two with Marriott and one with Pacific Monarch. Thus, through Interval International, we are able to exchange our properties and travel to other resorts throughout the world and we do so when we can. This trip was given to us by Pacific Monarch as an incentive gift for buying... more

The Avalon must have been something when Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis frequented Acapulco! It has unfortunately not been updated since. While clean and reasonably priced, we got an "Executive Room" and had noisy fans, limited A/C, a door with 1" gaps at top and bottom, lights in the bathroom that didn't work, only 2 of 4 elevators working. The... more

4 years we've been owner and member of the Avalon. This place is the most run down dump I have stayed at EVER. Compared to the other Avalon resorts we have stayed at and visited, I was happy to leave. The other Avalon resorts were ok but they had their sneaky surprises as well. When ANY service is made or... more

We just came back from this hotel and I wanted to write this review so others know the truth about it before they book it. This hotel is NOT for an American family to stay. The English of most of the staff there is terrible or none. All thier "entertainment" ( which is even hard to call it like that)... more

After reading some of the bad review we were rather anxious about our stay at the Avalon Excalibur. What a delightful surprise to find the place so absolutely enjoyable. The staff was very responsive and friendly. I speak Spanish, but they were all very good with English as well. We had a suite and a glorious view of the bay... more

We have been coming to this hotel since 1994, and things naturally have changed over the years. This year was our first year dealing with all new staff. It took some getting used to. I would say they need to have more staff that can speak some or a little English. More beach chairs would be nice too. Overall, we... more

Some of the negative comments here are (i believe) a little too harsh. we had no problems here, sometimes yes, the elevators are slow and stop at almost every floor and are always full. I would after all expect this. While not everyone spoke english, everyone at the Front Desk could. The rooms were good for what you needed them... more

For starters I want to let everyone know how I choose this hotel. I'm a 21 year old college student, and thus because my spring break was extremely late I decided to book the 'recomended' Avalon hotel in Acapulco. BAD IDEA! I ended up choosing this hotel because most reviews said it was in the middle of everything, & for... more
