The Grand Mayan is a beatiful resort with gorgeous pools and a fun filled beach! The resort usually offers a variety of restaurants, but only one was open to us in June because of economy. We flew from a distance of 7000 miles to Acapulco and to our delight Sebastian our driver and guide, waited at the Mexico City airport holded a sign with our name. We were at the Mayan on an RCI exchange, and in October it's the slow season...not so many people there. The rooms are lovely...marble floors and walls, comfy bed, nice enough kitchen to eat in some nights. The Grand Mayan was an excellent place to visit. The staff was couteous and helpful. Other posts have noted a hierarchy, as far as getting rooms, is true the sea garden and most of mayan palace was closed and everyone was place in the Grand Mayan tower. This summer was our 2nd time at the Grand Mayan. It's mainly a timeshare. The 1st time we rented through someone at vrbo.com. This time, my brother-in-law in Mexico knew someone who was a member.
