We chose La Siesta because of the rate, but we loved it for the location and charm. However, we were only passing through on our way to Guadalajara and it was a pain to get to off the main highway. But waking up in the morning and looking out the balcony window at the beach instantly made it all worthwhile.The... more

The view of the ocean is excellent. The location is wonderful. I am so glad I stayed here in downtown rather than the hotel zone. Downtown has such a wonderful laid back charm. EVERYTHING you need is right along the board walk where the hotel is located. The hotel certainly isn't 5 star, but the staff was nice and the... more

This is a very good choice if you want to be on the ocean in the old town. Very very close to Plazuela Machado and literally dozens of restaurants, of all types, but mostly Mexican. The hotel is also not too far from the main market and the cathedral, where very cheap Mexican food and taco stands can be found.... more

I booked three nights at the Hotel La Siesta at the end of November 2008. The La Siesta is a one star or two star place depending on your previous experiences. However, if you are looking for an inexpensive hotel within walking distance of Historic Mazatlan, and want to be ocean-side, this is probably where you should wind up. If... more

I recently stayed here for a week and enjoyed it for the most part. They have some of the cheapest ocean view rooms in town. However, it is on a fairly busy road so it can be noisy from 630 am to 11pm. Third floor rooms might be a little quiter than the 2nd floor rooms. The beach across the... more

Folks, we seriously believe that no hotel in Mazatlan balances cost, amenities, location, and ambiance better. For restaurants: it is above the Shrimp Bucket, next to the Olas Altas Steakhouse (fantastico!), adjacent to the Copa de Leche, within walking distance of the city's Cathedral, and Central Market, as well as the Plazuela Machado, rimmed with other super restaurants, It faces... more

I really loved staying at La Siesta and hope to go back very soon. The rooms are very clean with an airconditioner. The linens and towels are changed every day. With a balcony to sit on outside our room, the ocean view was gorgeous. The beach was clean and a good place to swim with no rocks. The place feels... more

Viva la Mexico and my first trip to Mazatlan, April, 2008. Sometimes it seems, folks create their own problems. If you don’t want to climb stairs, don’t stay on the third floor… Unless, you want an amazing Pacific Ocean view and bird’s eye view of the festive Mexican-Parade-a-Day. Located above one of the most famous restaurants along the beach, if... more

This is a MUST for any Travleler. Simple, Clean rooms with no bugs. The Hotel is secure, as we found the main doors were always locked and had to get in through the reception area. Not to noisey for us but could be for some. Book a room with an Ocean view is a must. With in walking distance to... more

Hotel is a two star by most ratings. That pretty much says it all. The location in the old town is the place to stay if you really want the flavor of Mazatlan. The bad part is the street directly between the hotel and the beach. It is quite noisy until about 2 am, I did not get a good nights... more
