We stayed at Balboa Towers for one week with my daughter and 3-year old grandson. It was so noisy that my daughter had to move the mattress from her room into ours because her bedroom faced the street. That back bedroom gets a tremendous amount of noise! The countertops in the kitchen are terribly stained, the faucets have a build-up... more

Have stayed at Balboa Towers twice and love it! Think of the US in the 50's and 60's -- less regulations, knowing your neighbors and stopping to talk with them, not rushing around but taking time to see the designs in the sand, the shells, the sunrise and sunset, and riding in the back of a pickup. Yes, you need... more

My husband and I just got back from Mazatlan, Mexico two weeks ago. We had a great time. Loved the area! We stayed at Balboa Towers in the Golden Zone. The hotel was right on the beach. There was a beautiful pool area. We were close to everything. We can walk to restaurants and shops. There were plenty of plumonias... more

My family and I visited from 2/26/05 through 3/5/05. We stayed on the 10th floor and regret only one thing. Having to leave Mazatlan. It is true that some of the tiles are chipped and that a little updating is needed; however, in a way, the fact that the Balboa Towers is NOT your everyday cookiecutter megaresort, overrun with 1000... more

Stayed at the Balboa Towers from Jan. 22 to Feb. 5 , one week each in units 401 and 1401. These are huge one bedroom units. The two bedroom are even better. This is not a resort as some people may expect. there are only 52 units in this building with 4th floor and up with only 2 per floor.... more

We stayed in the 'new' room at the Club, right on the water w/ the jacuzzi on the deck. Wonderfully remodeled room, etc. wish the TVs received more than the 3.25 channels...LOL. We love the 'old mexico' charm of the Club-- cozy up in a chair in front of the fireplace. No sacreaming kids on spring break. Very quiet. We... more

We were also coersed into attending a presentation by these people - part of the hotel we were staying at. We also stayed way longer than the 90 minutes. BUT BEWARE! We were also given the "boat tour" - however when we arrived by THEIR taxi to the marina- several miles from the hotel. We were told the tour had... more

Balboa Club is far from being a 5 star hotel. The few ads that I read online about the hotel gave me little information to go by so we just had to make our own impression of the hotel when we arrived. Not even 5 minutes after we arrived into the airport, not knowing of timeshare presentations, we were approached... more
