We have been timeshare owners since 1997 and in the lock-off suite since 2002. We own 4 weeks. This year the hotel was filled with a busload of young people who partied loudly and continuously from Wednesday afternoon until Sunday morning. My complaints were met with apologies but no action. In addition, the owner of the property held debauched parties... More

We just returned from a week at the Costa de Oro, while the condo was roomy, it definetly needs upgrading. The Good: The waiters at the pool, Edguardo and Pancho, were great! The bar type food (nachos, quesadillas, burgers, club sandwiches) were good. We ate inside the restaurant a few times, and other than those items mentioned, don't bother. Location... More

The hotel is in a great location. Our stay was in one of the condominiums. While very clean, the furnishings are long overdue for refubishment. The lamps were so bad you had to worry about getting a shock from the wiring. The beds were comfortable in our room, but we heard complaints about how hard they were from other guests.... More

After a cruise to Mexico in February I decided to purchase a timeshare. Looking primarily in Cabo or Mazatlan, in April I found one at the Costa de Oro on eBay that fit the bill. After the purchase was complete, I emailed the resort telling them I would be using my unit this year. When I arrived, I brought a... More

We went to Mazatlan for our honeymoon, so we did not get to pick our hotel. I was a little nervous after seeing the reviews, but I loved this hotel!! First of all, if you stay here, pop for the suites. We loved our room. Large living room, big balcony right on the beach and the rooms were super clean.... More

I read up on Costa De Oro and was a little bit concerned but there was no reason to worry. The location is absolutely perfect, right along the Gold Coast on a beautiful beach with gorgeous views of two islands. While not a 5 star hotel, the 1 BR suites we stayed in were nicely and tastefully decorated, roomy and... More

A very nice budget friendly place to stay. Nothing fancy, but clean and safe. We stayed in the basic room, 2 double beds. Beds were a bit on the firm side, but not uncomfortably so. No fridge in the room unfortuantely, and the hot/cold tap in the shower was a bit tricky to to get set just quite right. But... More

Found the rooms to be very comfortable, and the staff very friendly. Very good location in the Golden Zone. Easy walk to all the little shops.Food at the restaurant was good, but limited selection. However, there are lots of other places to eat in close proximity if you are staying for more than one or two nights. Yes, just like... More

We stayed here 7 nights in January 2009. Under a lot of stress, we were looking for a relaxing time. We didn't get one. The timeshare saleswoman pounced on us as soon as we checked in. She also would call our room and knock on our door. She was relentless. To leave the hotel, we would sneak out through the... More
