We had not been to Puerto Vallarta in 18 years, and the thing we remembered most fondly about our last trip was Los Quatros Veintos Inn. Immediately after getting off the plane we headed up into the beautiful hills to see if the place we'd been longing for still existed. To our complete delight, the Inn, the delicious Chez Elena restaurant, and the roof top bar with the most gorgeous view in the city were not only still there, but had not changed one bit. What a GEM! The rooms are basic but cozy, and the bar serves the finest margaritas in town! The restaurants' tortilla soup and bacon wrapped shrimp is off the charts delicious! This would be a perfect budget-friendly place to stay for a single traveller or a couple seeking a spot that is not fancy, yet intimate, romantic, and beautiful. The beach and shopping areas are a short walk or inexpensive cab ride away. The view, the food, and the hospitality of Gloria (the owner from San Diego), is beyond description. Don't miss... more
