I just returned from a two week trip to Mexico. One week in Puerto Vallarta and a week in Guadalajara. While in Puerto Vallarta I stayed at Casa Ito & Ita, a very inexpensive Mexican style 'apartment' just off the famous Malecon boardwalk. The unit I stayed in was a one bedroom (with a huge king size bed) with kitchen and very high ceilings, although they also had a 2 bedroom as well. You had better like climbing stairs though, there are lots of them! Considering the cost for the week though, it was a small price to pay. If you are on a budget you can't beat this place.
