Apparently this used to be one of the best hotels in Guadalajara, many years ago. Since then, international hotel groups have moved in with international standards, while the 'El Tapatio' had decayed into shabbiness and dirt. Our room was awful, old installations and furniture just give the impression of uncleanliness, especially in the bathroom. A swimming pool with dirt marks... more

LOCATION: The hotel is located outside the city, close to the airport. I was worried we'd spend a lot of money on taxi's but the hotel offers a shuttle service, upon reserservation, to either downtown, Tonala, Tlaquepaque or the airport. We'd just take a bus back to the hotel for 5 pesos and cross the pedestrian bridge to the hotel.... more

The hotel is nice, not really up to date but nice located(If you dont mind to take a cab every time you want to leave the hotel) and has some charme because it was build like a hazienda but the service is terrible for 100 Dollar a night. I arrived and they did not have my reservation. Anyway. I got... more

My son was coming to visit me and flights to GDL are much cheaper than flights into Manzanillo, ZLO so I stayed at El Tapatio the night before to insure I was there in time to pick-up my son at the airport. I booked online and selected the hotel for its location and its pricing, but felt I got much... more

You'll be riding taxis everywhere, because El Hotel Tapatio is located outside of Guadalajara, away from literally everything! Before I get carried away, let me break down different aspects of the hotel: -Location: This hotel is situated on top of a tall hill and affords terrific views of Guadalajara and its' surrounds. The disadvantage is that if you're a tourist,... more

We chose this hotel for its closeness to the airport and because they offer shuttle service to the airport. We booked three rooms for a total of seven people. Upon our arrival we were told our rooms where in three different floors but in the same building. When we requested the rooms to be on the same floor, we were... more

Hotwire gave us this as a 3 star hotel in Guadalajara for $63/night. It wasn't worth it. LOCATION: It was a 100peso cab ride to downtown and 70pesos to Telaquepaque. You can't walk to anywhere from here... it's between the 2 directions of the expressway on a hilltop. ROOM: Ours was spacious and clean, but definitely worn and old. The... more

After the most amazing stay in Nayarit, Mexico in Costa Azul Resort we took a 5 hour bus ride up to Guadalajara for my cousin's wedding in which I was a bridesmaid. We were excited to see the city and more excited to get into our hotel where the rest of the family and guests of the wedding were staying.... more

Our room was spacious and clean; with a great view. I would recommend this place if this the beginning or end of your trip to Mexico since it’s so close to the airport in Guadalajara. It is also convenient if you have a car to drive to Tonala & Tlaquepaque which is about 10-15 minute drive away. It is a... more

This is definitively not a 4 star hotel. Besides the pool (which is not even heated), I don't know why would this place be advertised as a resort. The rooms are large, but old. The entire place is in need of renovations. Maybe because we were there during the holidays and people resent working on those days, we got very... more
