I enjoyed my stay in this private home, where the owner (or owners) still lives: you will notice lots of family pictures in the living room, all personal belongings around the house and even books and dvds in the rooms. There is a very friendly person that works there during commercial hours of weekdays, but the people who live there appear to have little contact with the travelers in general. The house is big and very interesting, but it does feel like you are a guest at someone's home. Since the owners live there, you dont really know if you can just sit on the couch in the living room, or if there's an common area. We just used to come in and go straight to our room. They are pretty comfortable, just pay attention to clean bed sheets. The location is pretty nice too, close to lots of places to eat, close enough to subways and to the main area and museums of the neighborhood.

If you're looking for real hostel environment or infra structure, this place is not the right one...

The hostal is a private home in which rooms (suites with private baths and kitchenettes) are rented. The hosts were very gracious and we appreciated that they shared their beautiful home with us. We had our own key and entrance so we could come and go as we wished. The suite was clean and comfortable, with cable TV and wireless internet in the room (we didn't bring laptops to test it out -- this was a getaway vacation!). There was also a dedicated phone line in the room for making local phone calls and a list of local sitio cabs and other services you might need to...
