Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Someone else arranged this hotel for me for a 3-day stay to do some business. I checked out after the first night. My room did not have a door knob, the internet didn't work, the room floors were dirty, there was balled up gum on the headboard, they turned the power off on the outlets overnight (which confused me a lot when I got up in the morning with uncharged devices) etc. And again, there was in THEORY wifi, but in practice it didn't really work. Don't stay here.

This hotel has 2 good things. 1.The hotel is in the center of Mexico city with everything being so close like "Bellas Artes" and El Zocalo , 2. Very good showers and a better then expected bathroom. The bad thing is that the neighborhood looks very sketchy and there is protests outside where even police wear riot gear.

desk people unfriendly; bell-hops & cleaning people fine. Building somewhat shabby - no drinking water in room, water purifier in lobby broken; elevator always stopped at 4th floor regardless of button pushed; great location.

THIS HOTEL IS THE WOST HOTEL I´VE EVER BEEN !!!! I THINK THAT THIS "HOTEL" MUST BE CLOSED BECAUSE OF HYGIENE!!!!! All hotel is dirty, old and disgusting! The first time when we came to the room the beds looked like someone was already sleeping in our room and the charwoman doesn´t clean the beds and doesn´t changed the bedding. The towels been also dirty (thanks God we had ours...) The windows in rooms are old and you can´t close them properly. The carpet is dirty and damaged. The bathroom is disaster! The paintingon the wall is going down, the bath is damaged and you can´t use it!The toilet is also old.

The only positive thing about this hotel is that it is situated in the centre centre of Mexico city, close to the National Palace and Metropolitan Cathedral. Otherwise it does not deserve 4 stars - old furniture, old bathroom, noise in the alleys... Bad choice, really bad choice.

The hotel is located in a filthy road in the city centre. Hall and rooms look acceptable but I must say the service is awful. The WC in our room didn't work and my friend and I had to use a toilet bin filled with water to clean it after use, for three days! Moreover the autoclave was located next to our room and its appalling noise prevented us from sleeping at night, it was like having a sledgehammer drilling throughout the night. Hot water was not always available, the bathroom was particularly dirty, towels would disappear mysteriously. To be highly avoided.

I booked this hotel via www.hotwire.com. To be honest, it is perfectly located, one block from "Paseo de la Reforma", two blocks from "La Alameda", three blocks from "El Monumento a la Revolución" and a walking distance from "El Ángel de la Independencia". Room's amenities are not perfect, but its worth its price. Bathroom is too old, the same as the beds, but if you are only looking for a place to sleep and with a perfect location, this is the place. They say they have WiFi, but it is not true, it doesn't work. The elevator is too old and the Bell Boy got stucked in it while he was helping us to get to our room.

I have stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in December 2013. It is hard to understand how this structure got 4 stars because I would barely go for max 1. Rooms were pretty spacious but noisy and old. The entire property would need a complete restoration. Bathroom was not properly cleaned and due to some works on pipes we got dirty water for few hours on the second evening. Safe was blocked and despite the trial to have it fixed nothing was done. Avoid this hotel if you can!

I have stayed in many hostels and hotels and have traveled far and wide, and this hotel was one of the worst ever. Although the location is good, and the price reasonable ($50/night), it wasn't worth half that. Our room was not adequately cleaned (dirty and musty carpet, trash from previous guests left in room, previous guests soap in shower) and the hotel just feels slimy. Internet access promised didn't work, but I could easily have lived with that. The only place that looks like it's been updated in a century is the lobby, so beware! Worst of all, my favorite jacket got left behind in our room, and when we went to claim it the same evening after checking out, it was gone. Granted, some would say, your loss (I left it behind), but any reputable hotel holds onto things their guests leave behind for safekeeping. The staff were extremely evasive and unhelpful, and it took us two days to talk with the housekeeper in charge to get any explanation. I would never stay here or recommend this place to anyone. I will be making a formal complaint to the owners.

Not the flashest place but does the job. We stayed here with our tour group at a beginning of a tour. Great location, many attractions within a short walk and near to an OXXO (convenience store where you can buy bottled water etc). Rooms are basic but spacious, and have all you need. Beds, bathroom etc were clean. Carpet was maybe a bit dusty and room could get pretty stuffy, but could open a window. When our toilet blocked we only had one day left and were out for most of it so didn't bother telling reception immediately, but when we got back it had been fixed without asking! Staff always had a smile. However, some downsides were that one elevator was always broken so meant that getting up to and down from our rooms could sometimes take a while. Secondly, the walls are PAPER thin. In the bathroom when brushing my teeth I could hear the people in the next room as if I was in there with them! Luckily they weren't too noisy so didn't keep us awake, but i can imagine that if you had a noisy neighbour you might not be as lucky!
