I was lucky to have found out about Casa Gonzalez on my way home from Mexico and needed a hotel for one night in Mexico City. It is hidden behind a thick wall in the Zona Rosa section of the city and so upon entering you feel as if you have entered a secret hideaway with a lovely garden courtyard... More

Casa Gonzalez is like a home away from home. The staff are extremely nice and helpful! The location is warm, cozy, clean and very central in Mexico City. The room I got had it's own balcony, a tub and a king size bed. I slept like a baby! Breakfast is delicious and in a very nice dining room full of... More

You would never guess what lies behind the outside walls! Located in a great spot near the heart of zona rosa this is a great little hotel. Our room was a good size, nice traditional furniture in keeping with the building, modern shower room, very friendly and helpful reception staff and a super outside courtyard. Just the place to stay... More

Thank you for your most kind review. My great-grandmother’s first name was Antolina de La Paz, and for some reason you made me remember her. The guest house was started in the early 30's by my great-grandmother and grandmother. They charged 4 dollars a week including lodging (shared room), meals and laundry. The house was more open than it is... More

Casa Gonzalez is a charming, friendly hotel, and unexpectedly peaceful considering its central location. The courtyard is lovely--the perfect spot to relax or get caught up on work. Rooms vary in size, and while mine was possibly among the smallest, it was perfectly spacious and comfortable. The staff was welcoming and accommodating, even getting up with me at 4am when... More

Thank you for your most kind review. We will try to have a better room for you on your next visit. I hope you do not have such an early flight next time, but if you do you can get an early breakfast if you order it in advance. Saludos desde Mexico! More

I was a solo traveler in Mexico City and Casa Gonzalez proved to be the perfect place to stay! The hotel is centrally located and very safe. Hotel staff speak English and were very happy to help arrange day tours in the surrounding areas. Breakfast at Casa Gonzalez is a treat. Served in a lovely dining room setting, the food... More

Wonderful hotel in great location. Furniture is a bit worn, but room was spacious with a small balconey. Beautiful courtyards and gardens. Staff was best ever. Laura, Gabriela and Maria were helpful and friendly to the max. Super comfortable, relaxing place to stay a block from the Reforma.Walk to amazing museums and endless restaurants.

Spent 4 nights at Casa Gonzalez over Easter week-end. Our stay was wonderful. The hotel is pretty quiet especially in the courtyard. It is welcome in a city as noisy as Mexico. The hotel is well located in Zona Rosa (one corner from Insurgentes), very close to Condesa and 10 minutes walking from the Metro. Within 5 minutes walk you... More

This was my 5th stay at Casa Gonzalez and I really love this very charming hotel in the middle of Mexico City. Easy and convenient to reach, only a few minutes walk from the shops and restaurants in Zona Rosa and despite its central location surprisingly calm and very silent during the night. Have had different rooms every visit and... More

We have stayed at Casa Gonzalez 5 or 6 times in the last 10 years. The rooms are comfortable, the location is excellent and the opportunity to talk to other visitors from around the world at breakfast is an opportunity that we cherish. The ambience and charm is rare to find these days and every room is unique.

We had a disappointing stay at Casa Gonzalez. The room we were given was smaller than those shown on the website and a water pump - positioned directly next to our room - was switched on during the night and kept us from sleeping with booming noises that reverberated through the entire apartment. Thankfully the pump was switched off on... More

The most important is that we want to make this your home away from home, at an accessible price.Casa Gonzalez is four old homes surrounded by courtyards and gardens of different eras that have been adapted to make a home for travelers. The two original homes were built by the current owners grandfather in the mid 1920's.One of the houses belonged to a famous movie star, Lupe Velez (who married Johnny Weissmuller for a few years). The latest addition was built in the early 1940's by a relatively well know architect, Roberto Buenrostro, as his private residence.
