I appreciated the very friendly and helpful staff while staying at Hotel Hippodrome. I also enjoyed the great location in Condesa - a nice remove from the bustle of the city, while at the same time convenient to all the major attractions. Furthermore the room was great. Nicely appointed, with a modern aesthetic and a very comfortable bed. Finally, the... more

Don't let a snazzy web site fool you. And buzz words like "boutique" are just a foil for the inept service, poor design and hassle that await travelers at the Hippodrome Hotel. I didn't care that my room wasn't ready when I arrived at the hotel at 3; I didn't care so much that the person at the "front desk"... more

I'm torn about this hotel - the staff are really pleasant and are trying hard but the facilities just don't justify the room rates. Firstly it's a small apartment building that's been converted and there are no public spaces - no lobby, no bar, no gym, nowhere to meet friends or sit and read a newspaper. The reception is just... more

"Give me the luxuries of life and I will willingly do without the necessities." Frank Lloyd Wright This is the quote that lies above the reception desk and it is definitely the philosophy of this hotel. The room had stone shampoo containers to match the shower, lovely lemon soaps, and dim lighting BUT the room was not ready at 3pm... more

What's good: Great location, cute hotel, large, well-decorated rooms, pleasant staff. What went wrong: There was no air conditioning or fan in the room, which was very hot. We opened the window, but the street was too noisy and several mosquitoes came in, so we slept in the heat, with the window closed. Mosquitoes were stinging and buzzing on our... more

Stayed in the penthouse and all I can say is WOW, The room was beautiful and spacious and the bathroom was gorgeous with a huge tub and a showerhead recessed in the ceiling. The hotel is next to a beautiful park, has a super hip restaurant with great food and the service was very attentive and friendly. Everything is new... more

I loved it. I stayed there for a month, and found the whole experience to be wonderful. I loved the room, I loved the staff, I loved the neighbourhood. I was just an average guest, but everyone treated me like a VIP. It's a new hotel, so yes, there are some glitches here and there ... but the individual attention... more

almost everything went wrong here. they still had a cancelled reservation, but somehow for the wrong days, but didn't have the current PRE-PAID expedia reservation, for the right days. maybe we should have walked out then and returned to the 4 seasons, which is where we began our stay (GO THERE! they treated two scruffy kids very well). instead, we... more

This place is awesome! I have stayed at several places in the United States as well as in Mexico and this is the best hotel I have EVER stayed in. When I opened the door and entered the room, i felt like i was in my own home. The flat screen TV, IPOD docking station and the great designer touches... more

After having dinner at The Hip Kitchen (chef Richard Sandoval's latest Mex/fusion spot) in the hotel in January we were looking forward to staying in one of the rooms. Just returned and found it very refreshing. I want to point out that they are in a "soft" opening stage with only a few rooms available so there are some minor... more
