The lovely little hotel "The Red Tree House" we found by tripadvisor. Fortunately!! It is located in the trendy district Condesa with many individual restaurants, shops and cafés, near Parque Mexico and Parque Espania. We stayed at first 10 days and later again 2 days. We are sure: It is the best place to stay in DF! The nights are... more

My new husdand and I just had a fabulous week at the Red Tree House. Our room was modern and homely with fresh flowers, art on the walls, and great bathroom facilities. Mexican and continental breakfast each morning were a joy and a great way to start each day. The staff are unbelievably friendly, welcoming and super helpful. We had... more

My family and I have just returned from Mexico City and while there stayed twice at the Red Tree House (on our arrival for 4 nights and on departure for 2 nights). I could not speak more highly of the Red Tree House, everything the reviews say is true. The amenities were fantastic, the staff amazing and it had by... more

The first friendly face we saw upon our arrival at the Red Tree House was Abril, the resident labrador. But the warm welcome didn’t end there. Our hosts, Jorge and Craig, along with their lovely helpers, ensured our stay was interesting, sociable and just great fun. The other guests were a varied bunch, and all were incredibly easy-going and friendly,... more

All the positive comments are true, but... Long term construction is (and has been) going on to the building contiguous to the back-half of the hotel: drills, saws, hammers from 8 AM until after 5PM. If I had been warned of this, I would not have booked a back room (hoping to have an occasional siesta and peaceful occupation). I... more

A warm welcome greeted me as I arrived. Having explained to Tessy that I'd be meeting my son after he'd been travelling for a year, and that i was travelling alone for the first time for several decades and thus was a little nervous, i was shown great consideration and care. We had excellent service. The room was lovely, the... more

Hosts, rooms, breakfast, neighbourhood & guests were all quality. A lone traveller in Mexico City could do no better than to stay with Jorge, Craig and extended family IMO. RTH is easily walkable to any central location - Chapultepec and Zocalo each around 20-30 minutes and La Condessa is a very friendly area. Parque Mexico (2 mins) is charming and... more

The Red Tree House exceeded our expectations even after reading all the rave reviews on here. It was magic. Although I had been to Mexico City a couple of times before, my partner had not - so I wanted it to be special for him and it sure was. We were in Mexico City for 5 days across New Years... more

We stayed with Craig and Jorge at RTH in March, 2009. It is a lovely home, with a wonderfully social vibe, great staff, terrific meals, warm hospitality, in a neighborhood that is safe and offers many options for dining, sightseeing, and things to do - all in easy walking distance. We stayed in the penthouse which was very nice and... more

Can't add much to the already great reviews: this is a lovely place in a very comfortable neighbourhood in Mexico City; service here is fantastic; the breakfast totally surpassed expectations for a "continental breakfast"; the rooms are beautiful, clean, and quiet. The only caveat I can think of is that the owners are currently renovating, and workers started at about... more
