Excellent hotel - clean, quite, friendly and helpful staff. The location is not the best, but definitely not a problem. more

The hotel is a little bit outside of the main downtown area, but is still an easy walk to the zocalo and the city's other main downtown attractions. The rooms aren't fancy, but are pretty nice, with the best bathrooms (large, fancy fixtures, good toiletries) I've ever seen for a hotel priced at this level. There's also a computer in... more

First of all, the manager of the hotel, Mario Garcia, is absolutely there for you as a guest and visitor in Oaxaca- and following his example, the entire staff from the lovely woman who poured my delicious morning coffee to the daily maid, to the guy who helps carry luggage to your room- all friendly, delightful people. As Mario said... more

We had a great time at this hotel. It is very well located, just a few minutes walk from the zocalo, and even though it is on a quiet street we felt very safe walking back to the hotel at night. The outside of the hotel is quite unassuming but the door opens onto a lovely courtyard and the rooms... more

Okay, first of all I must emphasize that this is NOT a luxury hotel. However it is exactly what I needed for my stay in Oaxaca. 1) Location : It is central enough (a 3 minute stroll down to the Zocalo, make that 10 if you are a (very) slow walker) but it is far enough from the crowds of... more

I had been booked into this hotel through a third party while in town. It was my first stay in Oaxaca and I honestly didn't know what to expect. I did check out the reviews on this site, and remembered to ask to get a room in the back. Happily, the hotel was not bad. I'm not high maintenance so... more

Comfortable hotel and great value. We just returned from our 10 day stay in Mexico which was during the rainy season except that that meant almost no rain the entire time. It is a great time to vacation there because the rates are low season and there are no tourists. We found this hotel to be clean and comfortable. There... more

I stayed at the Aitana for five nights in March 2007. It is located on a busy/noisy street, but also close to the center of town and local attractions (everything is within walking distance). There is no air conditioning, but the ceiling fan kept the room cool (request an interior room and leave the window open during the day). Rooms... more

I agree with most of the reviews that see this property as an excellent hotel for staff, food, location (sooo close to the nieves at Basilica de Soledad). I was ready to approach the manager on the morning after my three night stay to set up a group booking. That 3rd night changed my mind. The noise of a high... more

The hotel is an old colonial building with beautiful rooms, but with few amenities. The ambiance more than makes up for the lack of amenities. Rooms are decorated in a colonial style and are extremely comfortable. The strong ceiling fans, do not male up for the lack of air-conditioning in the summer. It is both a ten minute walk to... more
