I am always cynical of people who leave bad reviews and would rather say nothing if I have nothing good to say but the night here was a nightmare. We booked to stay here after reading good reviews in The Lonely Planet guide. There are two sides to the hotel one opposite sides of the street, one being more luxurious... more

The staff is charming, the location is decent and the rooms are clean. If you're a couple you might wanna consider taking a room with a bigger bed. The standard double room has a pretty small bed. This a usually the case in the hotels in Mexico but this bed was realy small in our opinion. You'll get a discount... more

We had two nights in this charming hotel. We made our reservation by phone (only 1 person can speek English). They were busy to built a new roof with rooms but it was not disturbing at all. The lady with the breakfast and the receptionist guy are very kind and very helpfull. The hotel not only is a good place... more

Posada Jovel is located just a few blocks (10 mins walk) from the main square. The rooms are tastefully furnished, if a bit cramped. The premises are well kept, clean and well-run. There didnt seem to be any heating, and in late December, we experienced overnight temperatures not far off freezing. Blankets are provided, but you wont want to hang... more

My family of five stayed at Posada Jovel for five days this August and we loved it! We stayed on the "nice," more expensive side (where the reception desk is) and got a sweet little room - clean, nice furniture, comfortable beds. The staff was reserved, but very nice - kind, helpful, lovely people. The cental garden is very charming.... more

The place is clean and has a lovely garden. But the price has gone up very much in comparison to the lonely planet. At the moment it costs 500 pesos a night for a double room. There is no internet access. Though it does say it has. There is no person who speaks english or french, though it advertises there... more

We stayed for several nights at Posada Jovel. We loved it. The courtyard was beautiful, the views were fantastic, and everything was spotless. We loved the very inexpensive and delicious breakfast buffet. It's the only buffet we've been to that offers mango juice as a juice option! We found the employees very helpful. The rooms weren't big, but there were... more

Our initial impression was that Posada Jovel was pleasant and colorful (this was the building where the reception desk is, not their other building called "the Annex" across the street). We had a nice sized room (#17) with hard wood floors and the room was super clean. Rooms were very cheap, but you didn't get any extras (no heat, phone,... more

We stayed at the Jovel because of the reviews here and I must say that we were disappointed. They gave us a room in the building where the reception is, which is more youth hostel style. The rate was too high for what it is. The room was a bit run-down and damp (it was quite cold and rainy at... more
