When the doors opened at Bela's after our noisy travel to San Cristobal de las Casas, we relaxed immediately. Bela is increadibly welcoming and immediately offered us a cup of tea as we arrived. Although initially unsure about having the one room without a private bathroom, we were immediately put at ease that we would only be sharing with Bela... more

We had a wonderful week at Bela's. Our room was charming, clean and comfortable with a little balcony overlooking the town. We loved the gorgeous garden, the daily chocolates in our room, the delicious breakfasts (especially the hot cakes!), the banana bread, the really hot showers, the friendly dogs. The location is excellent with everything within walking distance. Bela was... more

We enjoyed Bella's so much, it persuaded us to stay in more b&bs in Mexico, rather than hotels! We felt like part of a family - Bella is great with excellent local knowledge, her staff are lovely and cook nice breakfasts (the hot cakes are to die for) and the place is small enough to get to know the few... more

We had 5 fantastic nights staying at Bela's lovely B&B. We had the large room on the 1st floor which was very spacious with a lovely bathroom and a roll top bath. We were able to sit on the terrace outside our door and enjoy the view of Bela's lovely cottage garden. Hearty breakfasts are served in the country style... more

I stayed at Belas for 3 nights and was happily surprised at the comfort level. Very comfy bed with electric blanket, I had private room with a shared bath but never felt like I was sharing it... even though the house was filled with travelers. One of the reasons is that many of her rooms have their own bathrooms. ....and... more

We had such a wonderful stay at Bela's. We were so welcomed into her home. The Beds were so comfortable, and warm, we were there at the coldest time of year. Teresa and her sister (beautiful local women) made breakfast so Lovely, watch out for the homemade Granola its addicting! Bela and her Husband were a pleasure, and were so... more

We just had our first visit to San Cristobal and staying at Bela's made it a wonderful experience. We stayed in the King Suite which had a sitting area and seperate bath with a clawfoot tub and shower. It was perched high above the beautiful gardens and gave a wonderful view of the mountains. Bela is so helpful. She knows... more

Stayed at Bela's for almost one week and felt like part of the family when we left. Rooms were beautifully decorated; the mattresses, pillows and blankets were super comfy; location near the indigenous craft market and walking streets were very close by and easy to get to; breakfasts were healthy and very yummie to start the day; and the garden... more

Hi - you've read all the reviews (well, you should) it's all true so I won't repeat the same stuff! Just go there! If you can, ask for the top room with the balcony, you won't be disappointed. Breakfast is superb! more

I stayed at Bela's for 8 nights while visiting San Cristobal to see friends and get some writing done. I've been to San Cristobal many times, and have never stayed in a hotel or b&b which was as pleasant as Bela's. Central location, but still quiet and peaceful, immaculate and beautifully decorated rooms, lots of hot water, delicious breakfasts, and... more
