The Hotel urgently requires an update to its facilities. The decor is from 1960 or 1970 and it really looks old fashioned. These guys have not invested a cent to provide a good service. The bed and pillows were terrible. The air conditioned in the room was broken. There was no internal directory inside the room, no evacuation map, no... more

The hotel is located on top of the mountain and accessible by funicular or by taxi, both of which are cheap. The room had a beautiful view of Taxco below and of the pool (we did not try the latter but it looked nice). Although the hotel was old, the room and bathroom were clean, comfortable, and quiet. The restaurant... more

The town is lovely full of shops and silversmiths, though, silver is not cheap but they have beautiful designs, most of the jewlery is made for women, men; do not expect too much for you. The Hotel is OK but rooms are old specially bath towels and sheets. They have the most beautiful view of all the town and it... more

If you like Britney Spears and REO Speedwagon piped over the intercom everywhere you go, hordes of Mexican school groups, the cheesiest nightclub on the planet, musty old rooms, incredibly high prices, and terrible food, then have i got a hotel for you! - Hotel Montetaxco! The view is great - but the view is great everywhere in Taxco. Pool... more

I stayed at this hotel for 1 night. Staff was very friendly. We had dinner at the restaurant, a little overpriced and the food was ok, but it wasn´t a great meal!! I loved the view from my room and the cable car.. a really nice experience!!! more

I agree with all the reviews about the hotel poor conditions (it´s old, ordinary and expensive) The two nights we spent there, the lift didn´t work, neither the TV remote control. But the worst thing was that the valet parking stole some cds from our car. So if you still want to stay at this hotel, I recommend to keep... more

The hotel has a great view and people at the front desk were very polite, but that's just about it. Rooms are old and food is poor. The service at the restaurant is poor too. The worst was when in the morning, I tried to take a shower and after a few minutes, the water turned so cold that I... more

This used to be a very fancy hotel in the 70s, but as it is in any place in which there is no reinvestment done, it has now sunk deep into abandonment. Rooms are small, furniture is old, bathrooms are outdated and broken, rusty windows will not open properly. I have stayed at cleaner and better equipped hostels while backpacking.... more

This hotel was recommended by the concierge at our Mexico City Hotel who organised an overnight trip to Taxco for us. We were told it was 5 star - it most definitely isn't - and we were charged five star prices. Silly us! As other reviewers have noted, it's way out of town and although the views are spectacular, you... more

This hotel claims to be "the best", a resort... i don't think so. The rooms are ordinary, I wasn't expecting too much. The bathrooms are very old and grungy, the towels that were provided were paper thin. (And then there is a sign saying that if you take the towels they will charge the cleaning lady) We ate at the... more
