The hotel information states that it dates to 1547 and was awarded to one of Hernan Cortez soldiers. Even though the tourist office in Coatepec list it as a 4 star, don't expect any luxury. It is a clean, rustic family run property. They had some very good food and the owners were very friendly. There is a lot of land beyond the hotel area, lots of half constructed areas and it is hard to tell what is new and what is old. If you stay in the hotel area you will not break the charm. You must visit Xico, Coatepec and the Texolo waterfall. There are not a lot of turist in Veracruz, so it is hard to find information. The hotel has a Wi-Fi but no computer you can use. more
