I did not booked a hotel for a recent stay in Veracruz and preferred the adventure of searching for one directly, on my car. The Torremar Crowne Plaza would have been a good option, but I was there once and I think it was too expensive. Another similar hotel would have been the Emporio, but it was under a complete remodelation. We were leaving downtown towards Boca del Rio when I noticed this hotel at one side of the street, just because I liked its minimalist style architecture. I asked to see the rooms and we were shown one, with a King Size bed and a sofa bed. Quite frankly, I thought it would be more expensive than the Torremar, but we were surprised to see that its cost was almost 50% less! The reasons? Maybe because it is not on the beach and because it does not belong to a big international chain. The beach is not important in the port, so, the choice was easy.

There was no one at the pool, so my two teen daughters and me enjoyed it only for ourserlves. The staff... more
