Just got back from 6 nights there. It's a beautiful little hotel with interesting art (paintings, vases, etc.) everywhere. It was our first time in the Yucatan and we were torn between wanting to go see Tulum, Chichen-Itza, etc. and just hanging out at the hotel. Even just hanging out in our room. Now this hotel is not "utopia", realize.... more

My husband and I stayed at the Avalon Baccara for six nights recently and loved it. It is beautiful, charming, small, relaxing and has a secluded feel despite being located in the middle of the hotel zone. The staff, without exception, is friendly, helpful, and hospitable. We stayed in room 401, a studio with a large terrace and lagoon view... more

My husband and I received a "FREE TRIP" voucher from Mexico Paradise Getaway's. (AVOID at all costs). MPG booked our stay at the Solymar hotel in Cancun (again, stay as far away from this hotel as possible). When we arrived in Cancun at the Solymar we were taken aback at how awful the facilities were, long story... but we ended... more

We stayed Christmas week at the Baccarra with our 1 year old and absolutely loved it! Our room was more like a condo (304) than a hotel room and had plenty of space for our toddler to run around. The patio with the stunning view was probably the best part of the room for us...we could relax in the sun... more

A wonderful, small (27 rooms), charming, unique, clean, quiet hotel. The hotel resembles a colorful, old red-brick Spanish mansion, with terracotta walls and tile floors. There is a very nice tile pool, with swim-up bar and waterfall. The broad, white sand beach, is only steps away. The lobby has a pool table and small bar area for guests. Cheerful, friendly,... more

We just returned from 6 days in Cancun. After much online investigation we booked a room at the Avalon Baccara. What a wonderful place. We wanted a relaxing, authentic Mexican hotel where we could kick back and enjoy the scenery. The Baccara was perfect. We stayed in room 405A, a one bedroom suite, with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the... more

We just got back on 11/29/08 from a week stay at the Bacarra with our 7 yr old daughter. We really liked this hotel - it's not a cookie cutter style hotel like so many others are. We did however get really tired of all the stairs! We feel like we got quite the workout, but our room was worth... more

We really liked the hotel. We had the honeymoon suite which was huge with a massive lounge/kitchen diner and two balconies. We only spent the first two days of our honeymoon here but had a great time lazing by the pool and enjoying the views of the sea. No beach which didn't bother us and liked the small hotel feel.... more

We just got back from a week at Avalon Baccara, November 5 thru 12, 2008. Once again the Trip Advisor reports enabled us to find the type of quiet resort we like and we were certainly not at all disappointed. The Baccara is not your typical Cancun resort. It is a converted hacienda with only a few dozen rooms and... more

We purchased an all inclusive package with a standard room and then upgraded once we got there. The room had a gorgeous view of the ocean and a separate balcony with jacuzzi. We watched 2 great shows at the Avalon Grand and visited the Avalon Isla Mujeres (Yoga on the beach and free use of towels, gym, meals, etc.). We... more
