The grounds are beautiful, and make it so convineint to stay here overnight to be able to watch the Mayan Ruins and the light show. The staff is incredibly nice, they do anything to accomodate your needs. The food at the hotel restaurant is Horrendous. The only problem I had with the room was there were soo many bugs keep... more

With a view of the ruins from the hotel lobby and it's own entrance into Chichen Itza, this hotel couldn't be better located. The manicured jungle grounds are stunning and the hacienda style architecture and furnishings are captivating. I agree the plumbing needs an overhaul, the towels are shabby and the food is mediocre, but the room rates reflect that.... more

If you're looking for a relaxing getaway near the ruins, this place is perfect! The bungalow was beautiful, with carved teakwood doors and shutters. Our front porch had a hammock and our own table and chairs, looking out to the pool we shared with just five other guest rooms. The Chichen Itza ruins are right next door, literally a 50... more

The Mayaland website claims this a 5-star hotel. Most of my complaint in this hotel comes from the fact that the hotel is in desperate need of repair and is definitely not a 5-star in its current condition. For example: The jets in the jacuzzi tub didn't work. The air conditioning died on us the last night and it was... more

We expecially enjoyed the lush landscaping and wildlife - birds, peacocks lots of iguana and a handsome black cat. Rented a cabana and mostly had the place to ourselves due to the swine flu scare. The food was average at best. Had a good cesar salad made at the table one night, but it went down hill from there. So... more

This place was like dessert for our group of 11. We came here from an Ecolodge and it was fabulous. Rent the cabanas. We practically had a swimming pool to ourselves. You can walk back and forth from the ruins in about 5 minutes and that's great if it is hot. We visited the Ruins with a guide (worth every... more

Hotel is lovely! Built with breezy corridors, comfortable furnishings, air conditioned rooms, beautiful tile, carvings and stained glass everywhere. Large bathroom with jetted tub in our room and a roomy balcony overlooking the gardens. Several pleasant swimming pools among the gardens on the grounds. I HIGHLY recommend staying the night at Chichen Itza. That way you can explore the ruins at... more

I stayed at this hotel as part of a Globus tour. The hotel is lovely, so close to the ruins you can see it from all rooms, good staff, pool, food, and lovely gardens. Don't miss the It Kil cenote down the road. All of Mexico is great, but DON’T BOOK WITH SUNQUEST! They took my money, booked my vacation... more

My hubbie had been here 25 yrs ago when it didn't have a/c and was like something out of a Bogart film. It has been expanded & updated and was really wonderful. We took the kids to the ruins, which are adjacent and fantastic. The service was unbelievable. and the prices were great. we ate outside, there were bats flying... more

When we arrived for our two night stay we were greeted very friendly with a glass of bubbly and our luggage and we were driven to the lobby. The first impression of the area as very green and full of flowers and birds kept througout our stay. The whole atmosphere was pretty relaxing, full of flowers, birds,.trees and very tranquil.... more
