We really enjoyed our stay at Amaranto B&B. It was a lovely and unique place. Great service and a great room/ bungalow at the roof. The room was clean and comfotable, and very charming! We loved it! more

I have stayed at Amaranto a number of times over the years, but have to agree with the negative reviews--the place has gone down hill terribly. We stayed in the penthouse and is was quite a "dump": half the lights and ceiling fan not working, food in the frig from previous guests, no towels, dirty dip pool, everything rusted, loose... more

Not being perfect, I know we are not that bad. I know there were towels and a clean fridge. I know there is nothing about the bed since I slept there to check it out. And yes, I did change one light bulb. I do not understand why you never said a word while being here. I did watch you...

We stayed here at the beginning of March for 4 days. I read the earlier review and can't believe we are talking about the same person. The owner went out of his way to advise on everything from local restaurants to snorkelling to travelling elsewhere in Mexico. We had alot of stuff to sort out when we arrived as one... more

BUGS will eat you alive at night. Very HOT with no air conditioning. Owner is uncooperative and won't answer phone calls and is never on the property. Would have rather stayed at home in Texas. Roosters crowing and dogs barking continuously. more

Contrary to my policy for years of not interfering at all with any sort of review, I need to move now. I need to, regarding the false statements I am getting. This reviewer, (that had signed with his own name) never really came here! He visited the place in January and was very pleased, telling me he will E Mail...

We have been to Cozumel many, many times, but this was our first stay at the Amaranto. What a delightful place! It was quiet, roomy, comfortable and we felt very safe on the property. Our room was quite unique--round with an exposed palapa roof; king size bed, a/c, fridge, microwave, cable t.v., awesome shower that had an open air ceiling--you... more

My husband and I booked our room at Amaranto via their website. We were in shock when we arrived....those internet photos must have been taken at least 10 years ago....it is nothing like the website now! The room was dirty and dusty and the sunning pool seemed more like a swamp. We had dinner downtown and came back to the... more

I have always been reluctant about responding to bad reviews, and well, in this case I have to thank my other guests for adding their own points of view. Thanks to Angelina, that came out to say her word. Well, these guests, from Italy, never made a reservation through the web page. It was somebody calling me from Playa del...

Jorge and Elaine were gracious, wonderful hosts. My husband and I were new to Mexican culture, but we found it very easy to find our way around, and tried a few nearby restaurants, and the local laundromat. The location is central to wonderful beach sunsets, drives to nearby beaches/playas, and shopping. Each night was an adventure. We snorkeled, took the... more

My partner and I have just returned from two weeks at Amaranto where we met up with family who were travelling. We booked two of the bungalows and were not disappointed. We had a brilliant time, the accommodation is lovely and the cleaner leaves the rooms spotless! The rooms are unique, with a huge bed, TV, fridge, microwave and coffee... more

This was the first place we stayed on our 12 day trip to Mexico, and invariably was the hotel to which we compared all others. Jorge, the owner and a true visionary, has created a space that optimizes form and function - beautiful structures that are all well designed for use, for keeping cool, and for relaxation and enjoyment. We... more

Have just returned from a brilliant two weeks at amaranto - lovely place to stay, such good value and Jorge is a very welcoming and helpful host. We stayed in one of the palapas and can't fault anything with it - really clean and tidy and beautifully designed with really pretty little features such as the lanterns, coloured cushions, tiling... more
