Needing a break from the long winter in the Midwest we decided on a quick trip to Cozumel Island to relax and thaw out - our first visit to this side of Mexico. Desiring to be away from the "tourist" hotels and areas, we found this small (4 bedroom) hotelito on Tripadvisor that fit the bill. Casita de Maya did... More

This little hotel is amazing. Dan is so friendly and treats the guests like friends and family. Dan has two dogs that constantly come and go from the hotel. They are very friendly dogs that are always searching for a belly rub. There is a small pool in the hotel. I am 15 and came here with my dad. Everybody... More

This is a delightful, small, boutique hotel. There are 4 rooms. All of them open onto the courtyard which contains a pool and two covered eating areas. In addition, at one one end there is a seating area and a small bar. It was incredibly laid back and comfortable. I ate breakfast in my pajamas every day. Daniel is the... More

We recently stayed at Casita De Maya, it was a wonderful time with an amazing group of people, Daniel and Dan made us feel right at home and Daniel's cooking was un toppable, there isn't anything better then the cooking and meals we received while there. Everyone there was willing to help and make sure we had the best time.... More

I spent a week at this wonderful little oasis in February 2012, a little leery of visiting Mexico on my own as a single woman. But I quickly made some very special friends and had such a wonderful time I actually cried when it was time to leave. The hospitality and warmth of everyone at Casita de Maya is beyond... More

This place frequently gets 5 stars. My estimate is between 4-5 stars. Note: This is not a typical hotel. It is small (4-5 rooms) and run by a very friendly Canadian expat who knows EVERYTHING about Cozumel. The atmosphere is like crashing at a good friend's house for a few days. If you are expecting 5 star as in Shangri-La... More

After 2 nights in Cancun Casita de Maya was an oasis of serenity. Dan greeted us at the gate and magically produced an ice cold cerveza. He then took us on a walking tour of the neighborhood. He showed us the local beer store and a couple local grocery stores. Over the cold beers he check our itinerary and made... More

We spent a whole week at Casita de Maya last month. It was a wonderful relaxing vacation. Daniel and Dan have got a real good thing going on here, and it shows. Daniel is a wonderful person that can cook up a fantastic meal for you at a moments notice. Or, just some Chips Guacamole and Salsa in your own... More

First impression of this tiny (only four rooms!) boutique hotel was great. Our room, the Wind Deluxe Queen was beautiful. The maid, Julie, deserves major props. She is a perfectionist and excellent at her job. She cleaned and straightened things that I have never had organized in all of my many, many hotel stays. She even wound up the cord... More
