As conference venue, the Fiesta Americana is wonderful. Otherwise, don't bother. Service was marginal in responding to complaints, charged for bottled water, even on the club floor. concierge gave incorrect directions or was not able to help with simple requests (such as where is Office Depot or where is a pharmacy). We stayed in this hotel after we could not get a room at the Hyatt; boy were we surprised. The Staff was simply excellent and very friendly, very accomodating and always available. They know everything about Merida and about where you may want/need to go. The food was decent at the restaurants, but beware the fruit flies at the breakfast... more

I can't really complain about the hotel - it is pretty much what you would expect from a 4/5 star hotel such as this. However, Merida is a lovely old colonial town with gorgeous boutique hotels everywhere and I was so disappointed to not stay in one of those.
