I just came back from an 11 day stay in Merida. My first 5 nights were spent at Casa San Juan. Lovely old colonial setting about five blocks from the Plaza Grande. Casa San Juan is ok for the low price you pay, however, the owner does not stay on the property any more, as one reviewer stated. He might have in the past, but not anymore. I made reservations a month ago to stay over a busy holiday season, and I corresponded with them a few times to confirm. A couple weeks ago, I received an email cancelling my reservations because they mistakenly "overbooked". This is very unprofessional. Reservations at this place must not mean much. more
