We are staying at the Dolores Alba as I write, and we are very pleased with the hotel. The hotel itself is charming, with a faux colonial style with arcs and ironwork. The pool is a little on the small side, and it can get crowded in a hot afternoon like today's, but the kids love it. My 7 year... more

I could say many things about the Dolores Alba from the "extra" fee they charge if you don't book via the internet (reception told us this) to the ridiculous internet fees that just seem to be there to gouge money from you in the middle of nowhere ( Internet is on a 10 min timer for 10 MXN Pesos but... more

Relatively good value , location and service , but the food was a completely disaster , bad quality ingredients combine with a terrible elaboration results in an unparalleled bad food imposible to eat. The Hotel staff did not offer me any discount despite I showed them the bad quality of the food including the dessert that I could not eat... more

This was a fine place to stay. I really like air conditioning and that worked so that is a big plus in my book. We had a group of 12 stay here and some of the girls were a little freaked out all the bugs that were seen scurrying around the room. The pool was very interesting and I wish... more

Our family of four loved this hotel. It has two pools, including one very unique pool with geological formations at bottom Best part is gorgeous cenote right across the street. Food was very good. Good Mexican food as well as enough American food for picky kid eaters. Staff is very friendly. The rooms are very simple, but nice. Only issue... more

We stayed here 2 nights and had a wonderful time. The 2 pools are terrific with established gardens, shady trees and plentiful lounge chairs. Even have hammocks to rest in under shade. Very international clientele, only 5 mins drive from Chichen Itza. Private parking off road. Breakfast is a plate of fresh fruit, small scrambled eggs and ham, hot rolls... more

The rooms are very simple but clean. The A/C, very necessary in the heat, worked well. The prices are extremely reasonable and include breakfast. The food for breakfast and dinner is not great, but perfectly fine. The location is excellent - just a few minutes from Chichen Itza and across Hwy. 180 from Cenote Il-Kil, which is beautiful and very... more

Great hotel looks nothing from outside but rooms are set around swimming pool/courtyard & very charming. Decent sized rooms, bathroom, TV, in room safe - all you need, breakfast not included in room rate but very cheap 50 pesos (about £2.50 3/4USD) and filling includes fruit, bread, yogurt & either cereal or scambled eggs with bacon. 5/10 mins walk to... more

We booked 2 nights based on the reviews and then just kept asking to stay longer. After 4 nights we were moved to the "Colonial" section. It was okay but not as nice as the newer rooms in the back, however, we were compensated because the rate was lower. more
