In January we spent only 1 night in the hotel, which is a good thing. For a short visit or stopover in the city for a night – location is very good. It is just few minutes walk directly from lovely main city square. Hotel has beautiful, picturesque and well maintained courtyard, as other reviewers already described, nothing to add... More

You might not notice this hotel from the busy street it is on just two blocks from the Plaza but walk through the doorway into the courtyard and you are in another world. From the lobby courtyard walk through the gate into the inner courtyard where the rooms are located on three levels. It is serene and peaceful, just like... More

This was my second stay. The first time I also had reservations at Hotel Caribe, but was sent to La Mision De Fray Diego. But this trip I had reserved the room directly here. The courtyards are pleasant and cooling. We enjoyed bird watching while eating breakfast. The restaurant is always comfortable and has some of the best local Yucatecan... More

Sweet garden area, quiet, and walking distance to main square. Rooms were a bit dark... But comfortable. I will go again. More

We originally had reservation at Hotel Caraibe, but hey were full. We were sent to La Mision de Fray Diego. It is a real gem, offering very comfortable room and a charming ambiance. The staff is most helpful in contacting taxis for excursions or the bus station for tickets. Great restaurant and fabulous location. We would definitely stay there if... More

We (2 families of 4) arrived in Merida during a huge storm. Rain was pouring very hard. We originally had a reservation for Hotel Caribe, but they didn't have any room for us. Not fun to hear. As Caribe works with La Mision Fray Diego, they sent us there. I am so glad we switched hotels. The Mision is a... More

Beautiful oasis. Initially anxious about location, but looking into the tranquil courtyard and great service from English speaking staff soon allayed our fears. Beautiful rooms. Ours overlooked the courtyard pool. Rooms spacious and well equipped. Restaurant serves standard fayre, but quite nice all the same. Great location for staying in central Merida. Nice and quiet too. We recently participated with Mexican and American counterparts in meetings at this very pleasant former convent. As with some many residences and other buildings in colonial Mexican cities, one has no idea from looking at the street entrance what a delightful setting they can expect when they go through the front door. The first thing one encounters after a long... More

stayed one night at this hotel. Initially it didn't start well as the room we were given was dark and damp smelling and a bit like a dungeon. After a quick chat to the front desk we were moved to a bigger upstairs room . Beds are ok. Room had a tv but no fridge. Breakfast was good. I would... More
