We stayed here as part of a longer trip around Mexico, and fortunately had a car. We ended up with quite mixed feelings about it .. . We liked: Our room - a lovely 2 level room, with bed upstairs, lounge and bathroom downstairs General feel of the place The food in the restaurant The location (if you have transport)... more

My husband and I stayed at Hacienda Xcanatun for 4 nights and we absolutely loved it. The hacienda has a good location: It is a 10 minute drive into Merida, and 15 minutes to the beach town of Progreso. It is a good base to explore the pyramids as well (about 1-2 hours away). The people who work there are... more

I travel to Mexico regularly and always try to work in a few days at the Hacienda Xcanatun to relax and decompress. It's a fabulous place . It is exquisitely decorated, the rooms are huge and the bathrooms out of this world. The master suites are my favorites, but I also like #8, which is a superior. Heck, I like... more

My husband, three-year old and I recently spent three nights at the Hacienda Xcanatun. While the nearby surrounding area is at odds with the Hacienda itself, once you arrive you are transported to another place....lovely gardens, wonderful accommodations and good food. The staff was very gracious with our daughter, but next time we'll leave her with the grandparents. Finally, the... more

I can highly reccomend Xcanatun to you as a wedding venue. I got married there in June 2007. We had a wonderful day, the rooms, service, food, flowers etc were all perfect. And it was so easy to organise as Mariana and Christina (events organiser and Director) did all the work for us. All guests and ourselves are already planning... more

This year, my wife and I traveled from Los Angeles, CA to Mérida, Yucatán to celebrate my birthday at Hacienda Xcanatún that we had heard so much about, and we had a wonderful time. But it wasn’t until the flight home that it really hit me just how wonderful our stay had been. We started talking about our trip, about... more

if you are stressed by your work and city noises, and you are looking for a peaceful escape, that's the right destination. All suites are stunning and give you all the privacy you need. No tv in rooms, wonderful bathrooms with open roof and jacuzzi, large patios out of each suite, 2 pools (basic but beautiful) one gourmet restaurant, and... more

I've been to Hacienda Xcanatun several times and have always enjoyed it immensely. Hacienda Xcanatun is a true sensory delight. The rooms are lovely, soothing and perfect for a very comfortable stay. As mentioned in several reviews, the exotic gardens are beautiful and the sounds of nature that surround you are quite special. And then there's the food... oh my... more

The exHacienda is a great place to get away for a while (which we did) or use as a base for excursions to important archeological sites like Uxmal or Chichen Itza (next time?) and the colonial center of Merida. It has alot going for it, starting with enormous rooms, very nicely appointed. We were there in July and it was... more

Great hacienda but not as charming as you would expect it to be. We had our honeymoon holiday in Messico, States and Carribbean. We booked 2 days at Hacienda, the Hacienda itself is a great place, rooms are very nice. The external is not very well mantained. The staff are very nice but not at a luxury level, the first... more
