Great hacienda but not as charming as you would expect it to be. We had our honeymoon holiday in Messico, States and Carribbean. We booked 2 days at Hacienda, the Hacienda itself is a great place, rooms are very nice. The external is not very well mantained. The staff are very nice but not at a luxury level, the first... more

We have been several times to the Hacienda to de-stress and unwind in the Mexico. Each and every time the experience has been very very nice. It is a little pricey for Mexico but you get what you pay for here and more. Christina is very knowledgable and very friendly. Sergio is a master of excellent service. Even Cesare, one... more

My mom and I stayed at the Hacienda Xcanatun mar 8-12, 2007. We very much enjoyed the beautiful hotel and lovely gardens. The staff was very kind and the food in the restaurant delicious. The prices in the restaurant are very reasonable. The spa was very nice and very reasonably priced. The pool is not heated but it does get... more

I went here with my mother and we left early. We are seasoned world travelers, and both of us agreed the service of the staff was horrible. The owner, who had to see us personally to address the myriad of issues, was rude and unhelpful, not to mention full of herself. Staff here is not trained to 5 star standard... more

The hacienda itself is beautiful, both the rooms and especially the bird filled garden. The hotel is however located 20 minutes from town not 5 minutes. The restaurant was very disappointing, good service, mediocre food. more

We celebrated a wonderful wedding at the Hacienda Xcanatún with close to a hundred guests from all over the world. Besides the great location full of charm and romance and the spacious and nicely decorated rooms, it was above all the great team of the Hacienda Xcanatun who made this important event an absolute success. The highly professional and always... more

I will keep it short: 1) The hotel is extremely unique in its "Hacienda" settings, extremely large rooms with beautiful designs (bath, jacuzzi, bedroom). We have not seen anything of this kind anywhere we have traveled. 2) Beautiful gardens and groomed trails. 3) Very good service all across. Despite its luxurious nature, the hotel preserves an intimate setting and personal... more

This is a summary of the complaint letter I sent to the Manager of Hacienda Xcanatun, Ms. Christine Baker, after our stay at this hotel during May 26 and 26. My wife and myself are profoundly disappointed. Having lived for quite a long time in Mexico and having travelled extensively in the country – except the Merida area – we... more

Some people are better suited to large chain hotels. In this particular case, it was evident from the moment of check-in. We brought this to the attention of the person who had invited them, and offered to find alternative accomodations for this guest. We were informed that this was a very demanding person, and we were requested to make the...

Everything was going fine until the day we checked out. There were a pair of wooden shoes in our sitting room (probably antiques) that I had been admiring all week. So I called the front desk to ask if they had a pair available for purchase. Sergio May answered my call and explained that they were "a very special piece"... more

I hate to sound like a broken record, but you can't disagree with the comments here. We stayed at four top hotels in Mexico over 2 weeks, and this was easily the best. In fact, I'd say that I have never stayed in any hotel room for $300 anywhere in the world that had the same mix of size and... more
