This was our second visit to Cascades de Merida but it certainly won't be our last. Owners Ellyne and Chucho Basta have done a wonderful job creating a serene, tranquil, and welcoming oasis. What a welcome change of pace from the large, family-style, tour-package hotels! The rooms are stunning, as are the garden and pool area, all designed with adults... more

We can only verify what the other reviewers are saying-Cascadas de Merida is truly a gem of a B & B. The design is ingenious, with soothing views from all windows, especially the marvellous shower. The rooms are spotless, cool and quiet. It was the only place we stayed which had books on the Yucatan.(check out the gorgeous book of Catherwood"s... more

We spent 20 days in the Yucatan and the five nights at Cascadas de Merida were definitely our favorite accommodations. Our directions said to look for a simple terracotta building-- that the beauty would be found behind he walls. We found that to be true in every sense-- from the courtyard pool (an oasis in the city), to the lovely... more

We are passing the word and extolling the virtues of Cascadas and the story of how it came to be to all our friends who love or are interested in Mexicp. The design, setting, breakfasts, and open hospitality were special and made us grateful that our "first choice" didn't pan out; Cascadas is and will remain our first choice for... more

We stayed at Cascadas de Merida for two nights at the end of March (2008) and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was well appointed with very comfortable beds, nice linens, plush towels, great AC, good water pressure, complementary bottled water, very good lighting (both artificial at night and ambient during the day via the “skylights” in the coffered ceiling),... more

Great place to stay, the cleanest rooms ever! Breakfast is awesome, try dinner down the street at Villa Marie's. Stayed there during a business trip. Ellyne and her husband are the best. Why would any one want to stay anywhere else? Quiet & comfortable, laid back, great wireless connection and my verizon worked there as well. Would highly recommend, if... more

There's really not much to add to all the superlatives below. I'll only say that my boyfriend and I have just returned to California after our Yucatan trip, which included two days in Merida at the tranquil Cascadas; it was much too short. We didn't get to spend enough time at the B&B (too busy touring around to fabulous Mayan... more

We stayed for 6 days and loved every minute of it. The place is beautiful, clean, close to downtown. The personnel is polite, corteus and took great care of us. The owners are simply extraordinary and eager to satisfy our needs and curiosity. I would have stayed there forever... Truely a delightful experience. Probably the best B&B that I have... more

My overall experience was extremely positive. The hosts were very gracious and welcoming. The B&B is clean and beautiful, and in a great location--close enough to walk to everything, but far enough away for peace and quiet. The food was great and all of the little extras--such as laundry service and a lovely pool-- made the experience a memorable one.... more

We were more than satisfied with this lovely little bed and breakfast. The room was well-thought out for maximum comfort. The staff was friendly and efficient. The inn keepers were hospitable to a fault -- great advice about the area and region, helpful with arrangements, wonderful cooks, good conversationalists. Don't hesitate to book here. more
