I was looking for an inexpensive hotel in Merida and checked in to the Flamingo. I really wanted to like the place. The staff was friendly, good location, etc. Although it looks very worn around the edges, my room appeared clean. Sadly, that night I discovered bed bugs in my bed and left covered with horribly itchy bites. I cannot... more

We saw this hotel advertised in The Rough Guide to Mexico. The hotel was practically empty yet we appeared to be given their worst room. It looked like it hadn`t been cleaned for some time, the door did not fit into the frame providing questionable security and in general it was just filthy. The staff were friendly but I wouldn`t... more

--- I am writing about this hotel mainly as it was recommended to me by tourist information in Merida bus station. I can't imagine why. Some hotels promote themselves at the bus station with special deals, but in this case the tourist information office actually recommended the hotel. It could be a nice hotel, but sadly it isn't.
