Vacation: May 2-16, 2009

Just returned from 2 weeks at the Grand Mayan Riviera Maya resort, Playa del Carmen - It was the most beautiful and spacious spot we have ever visited. We did an RCI xchange, and loved it. The grounds are so well kept, and the garden areas like big beautiful bouquets. We love to walk for exercise and there are long walk ways through the gardens and around the many pool areas, much of it quite shaded, especially in the mornings. Even though in the main pool area they sometimes say they "charge" 350 pesos to use the lovely palapa covered beds, the official policy is, when you check on this at the front desk, they credit it all back to you when you check out, except for charges you make for food and drinks, so they are basically available for free. The "amazing restraurant" I titled this section of comment with is about 1-2 miles south of the resort on the left as you head towards Playa del Carmen. You won't likely hear about it from... more
