Upon arrival the cool Deseo certainly impresses but we found it to be more like a nightclub with rooms than a hotel due to the loud all night music from the lounge bar. This place is amazing. I loved the atmosphere, the people, the rooftop pool/bar. I went here with my girlfriend and we had the most romantic stay. The hotel choice made it the best vacation ever! If you are young, trendy, and like nice things, you will love the Deseo. more

I personally LOVED Deseo, although it's not for everyone. It's a trendy hotel meant for young people who want to stay up late. As the other reviews mentioned, the poolside area becomes a bar at night, and the music's loud. Also, this being Latin America, neighboring restaurants remain open, in full clamor, until 3-4 AM. If I were backpacking around Mexico and happened on this place, and IF they charged, say, $40 a night for a room, I'd love it. But $240? Get real. I guess it proves there's a sucker born every minute, and I'm one of them. I'd love to own this hotel -- their profit margins must be through the roof --... more

The best part of the hotel were the photos on the internet. We had just got engaged in Tulum so were looking forward to having several relaxing nights at the Deseo. No such experience exists there.
