We had booked this hotel for the holidays and had to leave after the first night after the music shook our windows until 5am. Worst night I have ever spent in a hotel, did not sleep one minute. Still fighting with Expedia to get the $473 back I was charged even though I was told by hotel we would not... More

First I have to give it up to the staff, all of the staff at Tropical Casablanca are super friendly and knowledgeable, everyday they gave us undivided attention, tips and great recommendations for food and shops. I especially want to thank Emilia and Daniella every day they gave us excellent advice in English and Spanish. The staff there goes above... More

The staff is absolutely amazing! And the owner Nicola is so wonderful. You can't help but fall in love with them, they're all just great! And the location couldn't be better...one block from the beach and one block from 5th Avenue (which if you've never been is exactly where you want to be...tons of restaurants and shopping to be done)!... Let's get this out of the way: as many other travelers have attested to, it's loud - given that it's basically on top of at least four nightclubs. Our group was made up of city dwellers and suburbians alike, and we all had trouble sleeping. But long days on the beach paired with ear plugs made sleep not too hard... More

This is the loudest place I have ever stayed. I live in New York City and I can sleep almost anywhere. This is like sleeping in the bathroom of the loudest club you can imagine. I am in my early 30s and was there with a group of friends. We were out late every night and this was still an... More

Thank you for your compliment about our staff, the cleaniness of the hotel and their service. What we can not control is the noise during the christmas and new years celebrations which this year were more than any of us could imagine from the neighbouring bars. Please note that when you were surprised at the noise, which did get worse... More

Hotel sits in hot spot area, 5th street all shopping and dining 1 blk away, diving with the Abyss Dive Shop at Tropical Casablanca amazing, staff very accomodating and service with a smile. Not a luxury hotel but great for those interested in experiencing local culture very quaint and romantic. Loud club nearby but eye masks, ear plugs and a... More

Stayed at the TCB in Feb 2010 for a total of nearly 2 weeks..From the moment I arrived I was treated as one of the family. Nicola (one of the owners) was there to personally great me on arrival and offer any assitance I required. Over the coming days all the staff became a welcome sight and were keen to... More

We just returned from a six day stay at the tcb. others have mentioned all the positives, but the helpful attitude of the entire staff must be emphasized. chatty if you want chatty. informative if you want information. immediately responsive and attentive if you need attention. never overdone or pushy. rather, just right. re. the late night noise: yes, it... The hotel is simple....rooms are small and don't have much to offer, but location is nice. Problem is that the noise at night is beyond imaginable. It's ridiculous and non-stop from the neighboring clubs. The staff will pretend to be surprised to hear you didn't sleep but don't to much about it and certainly don't tell you up front! Don't... We appreciate your dissatifaction with your stay in the area, and I would like to stress that the noise comes from other sources, it does not come from the owners or staff of the hotel. The staff who work during the evenings are diligent with reporting noise issues and are very concerned with the lack of response from the municipal... More

I had my wedding in Playa del Carmen in early November 2009 and we chose for our family and friends to stay at Tropical Casablanca Hotel. We took over the hotel, reserving all the rooms in addition to the 6 bedroom villa (which is a beautifully decorated, modern home in the middle of the hotel). We were a very diverse... More
