Writing a review three years later is probably going to be difficult, so I'll keep it short. Hotel was great. We had a bedroom, bathroom, small kitchen, and small living room. Plus a small outside area with table and two chairs. Pool was small but beautiful. Hotel was very clean, and nice. Staff wasnt super helpful, but we honestly didn't... more

We stayed at the Acanto Hotel & Suites and ABSOLUTELY loved it!! The customer service was wonderful, and we were very impressed with the hotel itself! The atmosphere was romantic and beautiful... I felt like I was worlds away from home!! And yet it was conveniently located near the beach and all the restaurants and shops of the popular "5th... more

A fantastic place!! So close and convenient to all that Playa de Carmen has to offer. Quiet and relaxing! The staff was superb, especially the housekeepers, Lupe in particular. Rooms were great and the kitchen came in handy for breakfast and lunch. Shop the "Mega" store for your basic needs, fruit, water, breads, beer/wine, deli, etc; it is a super... more

This was our second stay at the Acanto Hotel: 4 days this time and 7 days during our first trip to Playa del Carmen in February 2007. The hotel's location is close to ideal, on a quiet shady cul-de-sac within feet of the busy 5th Avenue with its shopping and great restaurants. The hotel's only a modest walk to the... more

Hotel is officially closed for contruction and expansion. We re open as a brand new facility 5 times larger. These people were given an immediate refund after they notified us of the overcharge. They post pictures of a stove which was taken apart by them and a futon that was unmade by them. Not much to say but they were...

I did not feel welcomed or respected by the staff. It took the staff two days to replace a faulty hair dryer. The water was often cold. The pool was small and dirty. A staff member at the front desk assured us that he would safely store our luggage the day we checked out. About an hour later when we... more

As I scroll through the reviews i see many many positve reviews that say they loved the hotel, it is romantic, enchanting, second time, incredible, wonderful and so on. Than i see the very few unhappy Reviews that say the staff was not perfect or the pool was dirty, someone complained that they got bit by mosquitos outside of the...

My fiance and I stayed at this hotel with another couple and had a great experience. This was our first trip to Playa del Carmen and as avid travelers we prefer to stay in smaller, boutique hotels rather than larger chain hotels. We originally booked the penthouse with rooftop pool because the description itself was incredible. When we arrived at... more
