We stayed at the Magic Blue for our 10th wedding anniversary. We booked directly through the hotel website (that was as cheap as anything else we could find) and noted when making our reservation that it was our anniversary and that we'd like a top-floor room with a palapa roof. When we arrived that evening, the lady at reception was... more
About us: We are married in our 40s. I am very picky about where I eat and sleep to the point where I sometimes annoy my husband. What we were looking for: a more individual vacation--we are tired of the all-inclusive hotel. We want to relax but want easy access to things to do other than lounge on the beach.... more
I stayed in 3 different accommodations in Playa del Carmen and Magic Blue outstanded from all the others in every aspect: Location, atmosphere, service, rooms (like a 5 star hotel, with the charm of ethnic architecture), hammocks outside, buffet breakfast included, swimming pool, etc. But the best thing is the price, it's very cheap for what you get, and they... more
We loved this hotel , the rooms are very unique. Our room was on the top floor and quite spacious compared to the lower floor as the ceilings on the ground or middle floor a very low. The sinks are actually in the bedroom but some how doesn't look out of place. The room is also very clean and fantastic... more
Our stay at Boutique Hotel Magic Blue can be summed up into one word: Phenomenal. I would describe this property as rustic and chic yet minimalist. Deep dark wood tones are used in the structural aspects contrasted with crisp white walls and linens. Even though this property is situated right in the middle of bustling Playa del Carmen, it is... more
The Magic Blue is a very pretty hotel in a great location. The rooms were clean and the property was immaculate. We were quite disappointed in how quiet it was though. The pool bar was almost always empty, and there were never many people at the pool. They have a lounge/bar upstairs, but it was under construction during our stay.... more
We stayed at Magic Blue for our honeymoon. The location is 2 blocks off the beach, across the street from the pedestrian mall. Its far enough away so you dont hear the noise, but you can walk there in 30 seconds. The rooms are absolutely beautiful, with every last detail handled. Be sure to ask for a third floor room,... more
Just what we wanted! Spotless clean, comfy bed, nice pool, good staff and next to everything. Definetly worth the money! more
My boyfriend and I stayed in this hotel in early May (our second choice after finding out that La Tortuga across the street was completely booked). We booked directly through the hotel's website, which seems to give the best deal. When we arrived at the hotel a couple of hours before check-in, they were still getting our room ready. So... more
