I booked a reservation at Zahra for a few nights in May. A few days before my departure, the hotel website changed and Zahra was gone from all online booking systems. I had only officially paid for two nights at $25 so it was not a huge loss. I received an email from EcoTulum and they moved me to Cabanas... More

Stayed in one of the basic cabañas & paid ~$38 for it thru a discount site. Wasn't worth a penny more! Arrived later in evening and no one was there to check us in. We called the number we had several times, no answer. Finally after about 15 mins, someone showed up and checked us in. Pros: has beach access... More

I really enjoyed my stay. If you enjoy rustic vacations in a spectacular locale. This is the place for you. Me and my love had a very relaxing stay. Great food at a number of restaurants. Beach is amazing.Very close to the Mayan ruins. I highly recommend this locale.

Stayed for 2 nights in february for 95us$. We had no choice because everything was fully booked and we we're tired of looping around for other hotels. Staff is very unfriendly, they even come into the room without knocking! Rooms are worth only 15$. Only 2 power plugs in the room, 1 in middle of the bed and the other... More

Rooms are extremely basic, not mantained and not proper. Lights go off at 11 pm and water in the rooms is scarce and salty. Well you can get by a night or two, but consider that there's not much to do around there either.

What to expect from the bungalow: Very basic room and a shared bathroom & shower in a another building, but clean. A beautiful beach just around the corner and friendly staff. Its a very basic stay. The area has alot of restaurants nearby and its a 10 minute walk to the bigger beach. We really enjoyed our stay here and... More

This place is one of the worst places I have ever stayed. There are late night drinking party people. No real restaurant and what is worse. The hotel is falling apart. The hot water never worked. The shower never worked and the bath tub would not hold water. The beds were very very uncomfortable. We brought forth all of these... More

We were at the Zahra just after Christmas. Our main problem was that we had originally booked 6 nights thru Expedia: our credit card was only supposed to hold the rooms and it would be charged once we arrived, and the cancellation policy showed that we could cancel the res. 3 days before without penalty, however, our credit card was... If it was possible to rate this "hotel & spa" with less than one point, we would definitely do this! The "cabana" we had was a catastrophe: no window (only mosquito net), dirty towels, dirty sheets, loud (directly on the street) and showers / toilets outside the room. For hippies it might be heaven on earth, but if you look... More
