Dos Ceibas is a beautiful and simple collection of bungalows, with a delightful owner and staff who put an emphasis on blending in and coexisting peacefully with the surrounding environment. Be prepared for certain luxuries that we take for granted in the US to be absent, like air-conditioning. The showers and sink are saltwater, but the water is hot, and... more

Last May me and my boyfriend stayed in Posada Dos Ceibas in Tulum we loved it. Is a charming hotel with a very nice and friendly staff. It has access to a great beach one of the best in this area. They have a restaurant there and the food is good, but you can also try many other restaurants, they... more

Overall, I think this was a good experience. The positives: beach was awesome, food excellent and reasonable, eco-minded with wind turbines and solar panels, our hut number 5 was spacious enough, bright and charming. Negatives: staff somewhat aloof and disjointed, barking dogs at night, no liqour served during most of our stay due to some license problem?, fan in room... more

When we checked in we were told what time meals were and what time the power was on - nothing about the area of the amenities of the resort. We tried showering after we checked in, but the water just dripped down the side of the wall (we had seen pictures of this in tripadvisor reviews). It cleaned us off... more

My girlfriend and I just spent 3 nights at Dos Ceibas, and had a wonderful time. We stayed in the Iguana cabana, and loved it. The room (really a thatch-roofed concrete hut) was great, the staff was friendly and relaxed, it sits on a beautiful (and near-empty) stretch of beach, and the restaurant serves delicious food. (Honestly, the food was... more

A group of us stayed at Posada dos Ceibas dec 1-6, 2008 and out of 10 of us...everyone loved it. Now many of us are middle aged North American women that usually are big resort people (with our husbands) and aren't world travellers so it was an adventure to step out of the box and go to a small eco... more

Staying in a cabana anywhere on the beach in Tulum is an incredible experience. At Dos Ceibas in particular, because of the remote location, you will find yourself enjoying both jungle and beach in a peaceful, serene setting. I stayed in cabana #3 for one night and it was beautiful! It was November, so the heat wasn't a problem, but... more

Although we were booked at Luna Maya (see my review on that one), we opted to spend our first night in Tulum at Dos Ceibas. I can assure you, that if it weren't for the "no refund" policy at Luna Maya we would certainly have spent our entire stay at Dos Ceibas. We stayed in Mariposa (not sure if I... more

Our stay at Dos Ceibas was a success. It's on the best stretch of beach there is in Tulum, other than the part within the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve. We stayed two nights in Bungalow 8, Cocodrilo, the "budget" room. It was very nice and quite cool - we didn't need the fan even though we were there during a... more

I'm puzzled by some of the reviews here. My adult children and I had a wonderful time at Posada Dos Ceibas. Having stayed in a many a Marriott, Hilton, or Best Western, we were thrilled with the charm of this Yucatecan spot. This place was glorious, with little bungalows with thatched roofs, mosquito netting over the beds and beautiful bright... more
